The ending of Ahsoka episode 2 inadvertently confirms a major Thrawn spoiler by revealing the outcome of Morgan Elsbeth's mission. In the finale of Star Wars Rebels, Grand Admiral Thrawn mysteriously disappeared as his flagship was pulled into hyperspace by the purrgil, space whales unique to the Star Wars universe. For the past nine years, Thrawn's whereabouts have remained unknown, but the Imperial Remnants hope for his return to rejuvenate their forces.
Ahsoka episodes 1 and 2 disclose that the purrgil carried Thrawn's flagship on their migration path, leading them to a distant galaxy. Morgan Elsbeth has created a new spacecraft called the Eye of Sion, which is equipped with technology similar to the Jedi hyperspace rings seen in the Star Wars prequel trilogy. The ship incorporates hyperspace drives from Super Star Destroyers, making it one of the most potent in the galaxy. Additionally, it features a distinct golden bridge that may look familiar to some.

Thrawn Has Already Been Seen On The Eye Of Sion's Bridge
Instead of revealing Grand Admiral Thrawn's face right away, Lucasfilm chose to tease his appearance by showing the back of his head in the first image. Positioned on a unique and instantly recognizable golden bridge, Thrawn sparked intrigue. It was initially believed that this bridge was symbolic of the allies he had garnered, but we now understand that it is the bridge of the Eye of Sion. With this image and accompanying concept art, the true outcome of Morgan's quest is essentially confirmed.
Ahsoka Is Heading To Another Galaxy
To be fair, it's not surprising that this shouldn't come as a huge shock. Ahsoka has introduced one of the most exciting concepts since Disney took over Star Wars in 2012 - a completely new galaxy with limitless potential. It would be illogical for Star Wars to introduce such an intriguing idea and then not explore it. This is likely why Lucasfilm was confident enough to reveal such a major spoiler in the first place.
However, this revelation has significant consequences for the rest of the story. It means that Ahsoka will ultimately fail in her mission to stop Morgan, as the Nightsister and her allies will successfully escape to intergalactic space. The only question now is how Ahsoka and her comrades will also make their way there. They may find a way to sneak onto the Eye of Sion and use it as a means to travel to Peridea. Alternatively, as seen in the Ahsoka trailers, there are sightings of purrgil - the space whales that transported Thrawn to the Unknown Regions. If the Eye of Sion departs from the galaxy, Ahsoka could potentially use her Force abilities to persuade a purrgil to assist her in pursuing it.
What Will Ahsoka Find In Another Galaxy?
Star Wars is preparing to venture into uncharted territory - traversing the intergalactic void and venturing into an entirely new galaxy. Among the Jedi, Peridea is regarded as a mythical tale, and Ahsoka is no stranger to it. However, Morgan insinuated that the Jedi are oblivious to the truth of Peridea, suggesting that the Nightsisters of Dathomir are familiar with it under a different name. Although the specific name remains undisclosed, the significance of Morgan's evasion implies that it is an entity feared by the Jedi due to its dark legacy.
In the initial Star Wars film, Obi-Wan Kenobi posited that the Force unifies the entire galaxy. Nevertheless, as the franchise extends beyond the galaxy, it is reasonable to deduce that the conventional principles of the Force may not hold true. This discrepancy potentially accounts for the enigmatic sorcery harnessed by the Nightsisters of Dathomir, which starkly contrasts the abilities employed by the Jedi and Sith. Episode 2 of Ahsoka seemingly alludes to this notion, as Morgan successfully employs Nightsister magic to activate the starmap.
Peridea is highly hostile to Ahsoka and her friends. Additionally, the presence of Grand Admiral Thrawn, who has been on Peridea for several years, has allowed him ample opportunity to study the advanced technology and mystical practices of the ancient extraterrestrial beings from that planet. It is even possible that Thrawn has formed an alliance with them, indicating that he is no longer aligned with the Empire but has now joined forces with something far older and more sinister, originating from another galaxy. Only time will reveal what awaits Ahsoka in the future.
