Michael Douglas was surprised to find out that he shares a family connection with another Hollywood star, Scarlett Johansson. During an episode of the PBS series Finding Your Roots on April 2, the 79-year-old actor learned from host Henry Louis Gates Jr. that the 39-year-old star is his "DNA cousin."
Douglas was shocked when he heard the news. "Are you kidding?" he asked. "Oh, that's amazing. All right. This is cool. This is so cool."
According to Gates and his “book of life”, which contains research from professional genealogists, Douglas and the Black Widow actress, 39, “share identical branches of DNA on four different chromosomes.”
Douglas was informed that the shared DNA branches of the pair can be traced back to Scarlett's maternal lines, which have roots in Jewish communities in Eastern Europe.
Scarlett was amazed by this revelation and exclaimed, "That's incredible!" She then eagerly expressed her anticipation of meeting Scarlett again in the future.

Dunham, 37, was amazed by this news and exclaimed, "This is the most exciting information I could have received! My husband is going to be so surprised!"
Back in 2019, Johansson, who has previously starred on Finding Your Roots, and Douglas appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Box office smash, Avengers: Endgame.
