Meri Brown becomes emotional in the second part of Sister Wives: 1-on-1 after discovering that Christine Brown shared her personal wedding ring story with host Sukanya Krishnan. "I am feeling extremely frustrated right now. Beyond," the 52-year-old confesses in We TV's exclusive preview of the December 3 episode of the Sister Wives tell-all, which is part of the multi-episode reunion. "After we finished the taping for the 1-on-1 interviews with Suki, I learned that a story about me was brought up that I have never shared publicly."
Meri gets emotional as she shares, "That is my story to tell when, where and how I want to. And somebody else took it upon themselves to tell that story. And now I'm being forced to talk about it. I'm not happy about it."

Christine, 51, opens up about the relationship between Meri and Kody Brown before their January break up. In an exclusive teaser from the upcoming episode of Us, Christine shares the history of Kody's wedding ring. (Meri had previously seen Kody, 54, with a new ring that seemed to be from fourth wife Robyn Brown on an October episode of the TLC series.)
In the video, Christine reveals that there is a backstory to the situation, and although she doesn't feel entirely comfortable sharing it, she goes ahead. She explains that when Meri and Kody got married in 1990, they both had wedding rings. Christine goes on to say that Kody wore his wedding ring for several years, but it seemed to disappear once Robyn entered the picture. The legal divorce between Meri and Kody occurred in 2014, allowing Kody to marry Robyn and adopt her three children from a previous marriage. Despite the legal divorce, Meri and Kody remained spiritually married until their split in 2023.
“He transformed the ring by melting it down and kept the gold and diamonds,” Christine reveals about the original piece of jewelry in the upcoming episode. “Then Meri realized and asked, ‘Where's my ring? You don't wear it anymore.’ He responded, ‘I melted it down.’ Just like that. He said, ‘I didn’t want Meri to have control over me and power over me anymore.’”

After the ring drama, Christine and Kody's then-wives gifted him a Claddagh ring, a Celtic symbol of love, loyalty, and friendship. He and his wives, including Meri, Christine, Robyn, and Janelle, wore the rings for years. Kody was seen with a new ring while filming season 18 in 2022, which followed his split from Christine in 2021 and Janelle in 2022. Although Meri commented on Kody's "different" ring during an October episode of Sister Wives, she did not expect her comments to lead to Christine publicly sharing her own ring story.
Meri states in the exclusive preview of the upcoming episode in Us, "It was not Christine’s business to tell. If I wanted to have shared that story in the last 13 years in a public way, I would have done that."
