Mel B Confirms Spice Girls' Invitation to Her Wedding, Teases Exciting Upcoming Project (Exclusive)

To be Mel B's husband, you must be friends with her friends. The 48-year-old Spice Girls musician revealed exclusively to We while promoting America's Got Talent: Fantasy League on Tuesday, January 9, that her fellow girl group members - Victoria Beckham, Emma Bunton, Melanie C, and Geri Halliwell - will be present at her upcoming wedding to fiancé Rory McPhee.
"Absolutely. They mean a lot to me," Mel B, whose real name is Melanie Brown, confirmed.
Even though the singer has not yet set a date for her wedding, she has already secured a stunning venue — St. Paul’s Cathedral in London. Mel B was granted access to the location as a result of being a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE), a title she obtained in 2022 for her dedicated work in advocating for victims of domestic violence.

"It's really a unique experience to have royalty and all the privileges that come with it. I can even get married where Princess Diana had her wedding," Mel B explained. (Diana and King Charles III were married at the cathedral in 1981.)
Although Mel B admitted she hasn't considered certain aspects of her wedding, she does know one thing. "I think I'm going to have multiple dresses because why not?" she revealed, suggesting that Beckham, 49, "might" design one of those dresses.
The Spice Girls are not only supporting Mel B on her big day, but they are also getting ready for another exciting announcement. “All I can officially say is that we will be making an announcement soon, and the fans are going to be very happy,” teased Mel B, who also confirmed that all five members of the group will be involved. “That is all I can say for now, but I am excited to share more soon.”

The Spice Girls haven't released new music since their 2000 album Forever, but they marked the 25th anniversary of their 1997 album Spiceworld by releasing a special edition called Spiceworld25 in November 2022. This record included previously unreleased live versions and remixes. The group also reunited for the Spice World — 2019 Tour. Additionally, Mel B returned to America's Got Talent as a judge on the spinoff show America's Got Talent: Fantasy League, which debuted earlier this month.
Upon leaving the reality competition show in 2018, Mel B explained to Us why she felt it was the right time to return to her role on the NBC series.
“I was on America’s Got Talent for seven years and then I went back to England in 2019, did a Spice Girls tour, managed to get out of my very abusive marriage, wrote a book about it, received an MBE for raising awareness of domestic violence through my advocacy work. So, a lot has happened," she said, referencing her difficult marriage to Stephen Belafonte. (Mel B has publicly accused Belafonte, 48, of domestic abuse for years — including in her 2018 memoir Brutally Honest — which he has denied.)
She continued: “When they invited me to return, and with all the unexpected developments on this show, ... I thought, ‘Oh, perfect timing for me.’ So, now I’m back on the panel and I actually think I've really missed it."
