Matty Healy's aunt, Debbie Dedes, shared that he is currently fully invested in his relationship with Gabbriette Bechtel. She mentioned to the Daily Mail on Friday, April 19, that he is very content in his new romance and is likely putting his focus on that aspect of his life.
Healy, 35, has been in a relationship with Bechtel since September 2023, choosing to keep most of their connection out of the public eye.
According to Dedes, the bond between Healy and Bechtel is unlikely to be affected by Swift's TTPD. Healy wouldn't be surprised to hear the pop star's songs recounting their relationship.
"She tends to write about all her relationships, right?" Dedes remarked. "I don't think he will be taken aback by it. He and Swift are aware of what happened between them."
Healy and Swift, 34, were first linked in 2014. They reconnected in spring 2023 after Swift's breakup with Joe Alwyn, whom she dated for six years until news of their split in April 2023.
In June 2023, it was confirmed that Swift and Healy's fling had come to an end. Sources revealed that their relationship was never serious. The brief romance served as inspiration for several tracks on Swift's latest album, TTPD, released on Friday. Some of the songs include "The Tortured Poets Department," "But Daddy I Love Him," "Down Bad," "I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can)," "The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived," "Fresh Out the Slammer," "Guilty as Sin?" and "Fortnight."

During a prerecorded segment on iHeartRadio, Taylor Swift shared the story behind the creation of "Fortnight," her duet with Post Malone.
Swift described "Fortnight" as a song that captures the common themes found throughout her album, such as fatalism, longing, lost dreams, and pining away. She explained that the album has a very fatalistic tone, with dramatic lines that touch on life and death. For example, lyrics like "I love you, it's ruining my life" are meant to convey the intense emotions of love and loss in a dramatic and exaggerated way.
She shared her thoughts on the song "Fortnight" from Taylor Swift's album 'The Tortured Poets Department.'
According to her, the song paints a picture of a scenario where the American dream falls short, leaving you with regrets and what-ifs. She described it as a tragic concept, where you are left wondering about the person you loved but couldn't be with. The lyrics reflect the feeling of living with the consequences of missed opportunities.
Before the release of TTPD, Swift informed Healy about her musical inspiration.
According to a second source who exclusively spoke to Us earlier this month, "Matty's family was aware of the relationship and they were concerned that Taylor would criticize him harshly. Matty has had difficulties with being in the public eye, and although he has been coping well, the last thing he needs is for Swift fans worldwide to view him as a villain."
Swift has now found love with NFL star Travis Kelce. Their relationship is celebrated in the songs "The Alchemy" and "So High School" by TTPD.
The Tortured Poets Department is currently accessible to the public.
