There is a lot more to buildcrafting in Lords of the Fallen than simply combining different weapons, armor, and accessories. Umbral Eyes provide different passive bonuses that can give players a crucial advantage when confronting the terrifying creatures that plague Axiom.
If players have already discovered an Umbral Eye early on in Lords of the Fallen, they may be unsure of its purpose and how to utilize it effectively. However, using it is not overly complicated, although it does require knowledge of whom to approach for assistance.
How to Use Umbral Eyes in Lords of the Fallen
Umbral Eyes serve a similar purpose to rings and amulets, but they are inserted into the Umbral Lamp instead of having their own equipment slots. To locate Molhu, a hidden vendor in Skyrest Bridge, players must venture into the Umbral Realm where he can be found. From the Skyrest Bridge Vestige, transition to the Umbral Realm and ascend the stairs near Pieta. In the previously empty altar room, players will encounter Molhu, a multi-armed Umbral entity, who provides various vital services.
In addition to allowing players to harness the power of Umbral Eyes, Molhu also offers a selection of Umbral magic items and Vestige Seeds, which are essential for creating checkpoints on Umbral flower beds. The insertion of Umbral Eyes is complimentary, however, the number of eyes that players can use simultaneously depends on the level of upgrade their Umbral Lamp has undergone. If players have any Antediluvian Chisels, they should hand them over to Molhu for lamp improvement.
Umbral Eyes offer passive bonuses that provide additional benefits to a variety of actions. These bonuses are not exclusively limited to Umbral magic or the withered health mechanic, although many Umbral Eyes do tend to focus on these aspects. Some of these passive bonuses of Umbral Eyes are:
Enemies within lamp siphon range are slowed
Gain damage immunity for a short duration after entering the Umbral Realm
While charging a powerful strike, the player's posture remains unbreakable, and all incoming damage is converted into wither damage. Hidden within the environment, players may come across Umbral Eyes, typically located in the Umbral Realm. It is crucial to thoroughly investigate points of interest and objects that seem suspicious in order to uncover any hidden treasures. While exploring the Umbral Realm is a valid option, it is advisable to proceed with caution and avoid lingering too long to avoid attracting the attention of the Reaper.
Lords of the Fallen is available now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
