Where is Kaneli? (Where is the Flight Range?)How to Complete Kaneli's Flight Training (Beginner Course)
In Tears of the Kingdom's Rito Village, Breath of the Wild fans may observe the absence of the Rito Elder, Kaneli. However, Kaneli can still be found at the Flight Range despite Teba's new role as Rito Elder. If players speak to him, they can access the side quest and minigame known as Kaneli's Flight Training.
Players can not only earn money but also hone their gliding and diving skills at the Flight Range/Kaneli's Flight Training side quest. As these mechanics are crucial for the journey through Tears of the Kingdom, this area provides a safe space for new players to practice before venturing out into the unknown.
Where is Kaneli? (Where is the Flight Range?)
To access the "Kaneli's Flight Training" side quest, players must first complete the main quest "Tulin of Rito Village" and defeat Colgera with the help of Tulin. Once completed, players can make their way to the Flight Range (-3793, 2317, 0161). The most efficient way to get there is by starting from Rospro Pass Skyview Tower (-3684, 2343, 0233), but players can also choose to glide north from Rito Village.
Before embarking on this side quest, players must equip themselves with cold-resistant armor or consume a Chilly Elixir to protect Link from the frigid climate. Failure to do so will result in Link losing health gradually. The Snowquill Set obtainable from Rito Village serves as a viable option for players. Once equipped, players can speak to Kaneli to initiate a flight training exercise, which can be completed at their own pace without any time constraints.
How to Complete Kaneli's Flight Training (Beginner Course)
To complete this side quest, Link needs to navigate through 15 rings around the Flight Range within 30 seconds. Although there are 20 rings in total, only 15 are required to pass. The rings are conveniently located around the center pillar of the Flight Range. The most efficient approach is for Link to ascend above the rings, dive through them, and repeat the process until he has successfully gone through a minimum of 15 rings.
Jump off the platform and glide over to the closest rings.
Let the wind carry Link above the rings, then press R-button to dive through them.
Collect all the rings by opening the paraglider and repeating steps 1-2. Upon successful completion, Kaneli will grant Link a reward of 50 Rupees and the opportunity to take an "Advanced Course." Subsequently, players can revisit "Kaneli's Flight Training" multiple times, but at a cost of 20 Rupees per attempt.
Kaneli's Flight Training: Advanced Course
In contrast to the Beginner Course, the Flight Training's Advanced Course lacks any further side quests, rendering it unnecessary unless players require additional Rupees. Completing the Advanced Course entails maneuvering Link through 35 Rings within a duration of 50 seconds, while also paying a fee of 20 Rupees. Unlike the Beginner Course, the Rings in the Advanced Course are not arranged in a stacked formation and are scattered throughout the Flight Range, some of which are concealed beneath pillars. As a result, Link must be skillfully guided while diving to navigate through them.
Having the Wingsuit/Glide Armor before taking on the Advanced Course is highly recommended, as it will significantly improve Link's control while free-falling. Leveling up the Wingsuit Set to level 2 will ensure that Link doesn't take any damage in case of a crash landing. Additionally, having an extra Stamina Bar will prove to be beneficial.
Players can increase their chances of completing the challenge by following a clockwise path, despite the scattered placement of the rings. The optimal strategy involves gliding through the first three rings and then making a left turn to circle around the remaining rings while diving or gliding through them.
Float up through the rings when using the updraft.
Press R-button to dive, but don't hold down R-button unless the rings are lined up.
Kaneli's Advanced Course reward will vary based on Link's performance:
If Link manages to get less than 30 rings, he'll receive 50 Rupees.
If Link manages to get 30-34 rings, Kaneli will give him 100 Rupees.
If he manages to get all 35, he'll receive 300 Rupees *.
Upon completing the Advanced Course for the first time, Link will receive a reward of 300 Rupees. However, any subsequent attempts will only result in a reward of 100 Rupees for successfully passing through all the rings. Fans of the game can now enjoy The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom on Nintendo Switch.
