Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom: Piaffe, Packed Away Quest Walkthrough
In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, players can engage in various side quests that require their assistance in the daily lives of Hyrule's residents. These individuals have been affected by the Uprising and Regional Phenomena, leading them to seek help from Link. One such individual is Piaffe, a stablehand who requires urgent aid from the hero. To complete the side quest "Piaffe, Packed Away," follow this guide.
As players venture towards the Gerudo Desert, they will come across the abandoned Gerudo Canyon Stable situated at coordinates (-2794, -2239, 0029). The reception desk is empty, and there are no horses in sight. A lone puppy resides in the stable, amusing itself by chasing its tail. However, upon closer examination, Link will notice that all entrances to the stable are blocked by large wooden crates.
Upon entering the stable, players will notice a speech bubble emanating from within, indicating the presence of Piaffe, the frustrated stablehand. Piaffe is trapped amidst the boxes, pondering the daunting task of cleaning up the stable. After breaking through enough boxes to gain entry, Link learns that the stable has ceased operations due to the scorching heat generated by the Regional Phenomena, causing travelers to head further down the road into the Desert to rest at the Kara Kara Bazaar instead. Piaffe mentions that Princess Zelda's advisory to avoid the Gerudo Canyon Well adjacent to the stable has also heavily affected the stable's operations, with a strange hint of resentment in her voice. However, Link is free to explore the Gerudo Canyon Well if he wishes to investigate. Within the cave, he will encounter a rock wall that can be demolished, leading to a hidden area filled with challenging Lizafalos enemies and a Rock Like guarding the entrance to a small cave filled with mushrooms.
The quest, "Piaffe, Packed Away," can be initiated by having a conversation with Piaffe. The objective of the quest is quite simple - clear out the numerous crates from the stable. Destroying these crates will yield a generous amount of arrows, along with some apples and acorns.
The larger boxes in the stable offer more durability than their smaller counterparts, requiring a greater amount of force to be destroyed. However, they can still be susceptible to destruction from blunt weapons, especially those infused with rock. A more unconventional approach would be to use fire as a means of destruction, as the stable itself will remain unscathed.
After clearing out all the crates, Piaffe expresses his gratitude towards Link. Despite the Gerudo Canyon Stable remaining closed, Link is rewarded with one Pony Point as a token of appreciation for successfully completing the "Piaffe, Packed Away" quest. As the quest is completed and the room cleared, two empty frames are revealed on the back wall. These frames act as placeholders for landscape photos, which are part of a separate series of side quests.
