Located in the southern section of Gerudo Highlands, just southeast of the Gerudo Highlands Skyview Tower, is the Tears of the Kingdom's Mayamats Shrine (A Route for a Ball). The coordinates for the shrine are roughly -4632, -1518, 0452. Fortunately, players won't have to search for hidden underground or cave entrances as the shrine is easily visible. Upon completion, players will be rewarded with a Light of Blessing that can be used to increase Link's health or stamina at one of the Goddess Statues.
This guide will walk players through the tricky puzzle that the Mayamats Shrine offers, so let's get into it.
TotK Mayamats Shrine Puzzle Solution
To access the Mayamats Shrine, players are presented with a locked gate and a small slot on the ground that only fits a small ball. The objective is to get the ball into the slot, but players will need to find a way to shrink the ball down as a large one won't fit. Utilizing Link's paraglider, players can soar across the chasm by catching the gust of wind from a raised platform.
On the next platform, players will find a large metal ball atop a raised structure. Use the Ascend ability to reach it, then grab it using Ultrahand.
Players can obtain the treasure chest in this region by dropping the ball on the ground and then jumping on it. The chest contains a valuable Large Zonai Charge that can be used to prevent a Zonai Energy Cell from losing power for a limited time. See the picture below for a visual guide.
To ascend to the higher platform above, players in Zelda TotK can utilize the large ball by placing it at the center of the gap, as depicted in the image. Once the ball is positioned, players can utilize Ascend to pass through it and access the higher area where they can find a rail and a small ball that is rolling towards an abyss.
Players face a bit of a challenge in the next step, as they need to strategically use Ultrahand to bring the larger ball as close as possible to the smaller ball before connecting them together.
Watch the provided video demonstration to see the solution in action. To proceed, return to the lower platform where the larger ball was discovered and carefully place both balls onto the grind rail. This will bring the rail down to the main area where the locked gate is located. In the event that the balls accidentally fall into the chasm, players can utilize the Recall function to return to a safe location, fly over to the other side, and retrieve them with Ultrahand.
Now, just unstick the little ball with Ultrahand (jiggle the right control stick) and put it into the glowing slot to open the gate to the end of the Mayamats Shrine.
