Survival in Honkai: Star Rail heavily relies on prioritizing the team's HP, given the absence of hit-rate mechanics and the turn-based gameplay. Dodging attacks is not a viable strategy, making it crucial for players to focus on maintaining the team's health, particularly in challenging battles. Initially, players faced difficulties as the game offered limited options for healers, with only Natasha being obtainable for free and Bailu, a 5-star healer exclusive to Gacha. This posed a challenge for players tackling end-game content like Forgotten Hall, which requires two healers at higher memory levels. However, the version 1.1 update introduced Luocha, a unique third healer option, providing players with a different kit compared to the other two choices.

The most notable feature of Luocha's kit, when compared to Bailu and Natasha, is its focus on passive healing abilities with limited area-of-effect healing potential. His Skill has a high base healing rate for a single target that scales with his ATK and has the ability to remove a debuff from an ally after Luocha's ascension. Interestingly, his Ultimate does not provide inherent healing properties but instead prioritizes dealing area-of-effect damage while removing buffs from all enemies. Because of his high base ATK, Luocha can also serve as a sub-DPS and weakness breaker. Another key aspect of Luocha's healing is the accumulation of Abyss Flower stacks, which occurs when he uses his Skill and Ultimate. Once he reaches 2 stacks, Luocha's Talent is triggered, allowing him to create a field among enemies. When characters attack enemies within this field, they will be healed based on a percentage of Luocha's ATK. Moreover, once Luocha reaches Ascension 4, every character will also receive a smaller amount of healing. Consequently, while Luocha is relatively easy to sustain with low Skill Point requirements, players should prioritize maintaining this field. Properly building Luocha is crucial in order to maximize his effectiveness in Honkai: Star Rail.

Luocha can benefit greatly from equipping two different sets: Passerby of Wandering Cloud, which provides an Outgoing Healing Bonus, and Musketeer of Wild Wheat, which increases his ATK when both sets are equipped on two pieces. Luckily, players only need to farm Corridor of Fading Echoes Path of Drifting and can use the suitable pieces from both sets.

For Planar Ornaments, there are two options for Luocha. The Space Sealing Station is generally more optimal as it unconditionally increases his ATK. When Luocha reaches 120 speed, this ATK bonus is doubled. Alternatively, players who do not have suitable pieces from this Planar Ornament can consider equipping Luocha with Fleet of the Ageless, which can also be obtained from the same Simulated Universe in World 3. While it primarily provides HP%, reaching 120 speed grants Luocha an 8% ATK increase, benefiting him and the rest of the team members. This makes it a viable choice for a support ornament.

When considering the primary stats for Luocha's relic, players should prioritize based on the light cone they will be using. For those with Luocha's signature light cone, Echoes of the Coffin, prioritizing ATK% along with Energy Regen and Speed will provide significant benefits. This allows for more focus on secondary stats like Outgoing Healing and Speed. However, players without access to high-value ATK can consider pieces that provide ATK instead of these stats. It is generally recommended to reach 120 speed and have Luocha act after allies have lost some HP, considering he is a healer. Luocha's base speed at level 80 is 101, making it relatively easy to achieve the desired value with advantageous sub-stats or by teaming him up with characters like Asta. Additionally, the ATK% Feet piece provides more additional ATK compared to the secondary effect of Space Sealing Station, making ATK% more worthwhile for most players.

When it comes to sub-stats, Luocha can benefit from a variety of stats. While ATK% is the most desired, other stats to consider are Speed, HP%, and DEF%. Although Luocha doesn't directly scale from HP and DEF, it is ideal to keep him tankier to prevent him from being knocked down by enemies. In comparison, Bailu and Natasha naturally have higher HP stats, allowing them to sustain significant damage. Additionally, since Luocha has a strong Ultimate that deals damage, even a small amount of Crit stats combined with Effect Res can benefit him. Ultimately, as a healer, Luocha's utility relies more on the primary stats of his relics and talent levels rather than min-maxing his sub-stats. This makes him easier to build compared to DPS-focused characters.

Luocha Best Light Cones In Honkai: Star Rail

Luocha's signature light cone, Echoes of the Coffin, is his best-in-slot choice. It offers a significant amount of ATK% and provides additional bonuses to Energy Generation and Speed. This light cone is superior to others in the Abundance path, as most focus on Outgoing Healing or HP% instead of ATK%. However, it's important to note that Echoes of the Coffin may not perform as well for other healers unless there is another ATK% based healer in the roster. Therefore, players looking to save resources can consider alternative options, particularly those that offer Outgoing Healing Bonus and Energy.

Another top option for Luocha is Bailu's light cone, Time Waits for No One. It increases HP% and Outgoing Healing, which enhances his survivability and provides a desirable stat for him. Pairing this light cone with an Outgoing Healing Bonus Body piece can improve Luocha's utility as a sub-DPS, as it adds extra damage after an ally hits an enemy post-healing. Additionally, as a 5-star option, Time Waits for No One has higher base stats compared to lower rarity options, thus increasing Luocha's healing potential and survivability.

For players who don't have access to any 5-star options, there are viable alternatives among the 4-star choices. Shared Feeling is an excellent option as it provides an unconditional Outgoing Healing Bonus without any conditions. Additionally, when Luocha uses his skill, it also generates energy for him and his allies, enabling increased damage and usefulness. Another great alternative is Post-Op Conversation, which increases Luocha's Energy Generation without any conditions and boosts his Outgoing Healing Bonus after using his Ultimate. Equipping Post-Op Conversation allows Luocha to use his Ultimate more frequently, enhancing his sub-DPS potential and allowing him to gain a stack of Abyss Flower without relying heavily on Skill Points. Perfect Timing is an interesting light cone choice that showcases Luocha in its artwork. It can be effective for players with a significant amount of Effect Res sub-stats in their relics. With high Effect Res, Luocha's Outgoing Healing Bonus can surpass the amount achievable with Post-Op Conversation and Shared Feeling, while also improving his resistance to enemy debuffs. This enhances his survivability, especially when combined with his sixth ascension that improves his ability to resist crowd control debuffs.

For players who haven't been lucky enough to obtain these options from the Gacha, the 3-star light cone Cornucopia can be a viable choice. It significantly increases Luocha's Outgoing Healing, especially when fully superimposed, which is relatively easier to achieve given its lower rarity. Each time Luocha uses his Skill or Ultimate, Cornucopia allows him to perform well with a low-investment option. Interestingly, Cornucopia can even outperform the F2P-friendly light cone Quid Pro Quo, which can be obtained through Lucent Afterglow, as well as the Nameless Glory battle pass light cone Warm Nights Won't Last, as they focus on max HP, which isn't as significant for Luocha.

Luocha Trace Priority In Honkai: Star Rail

In Honkai: Star Rail, the recommended priority order for leveling Luocha's abilities should be as follows:

1. Skill - as it targets and heals an ally with high modifiers

2. Ultimate - as it deals AoE damage

3. Talent Trace - as it determines the amount of healing received from stacking Abyss Flowers

4. Basic ATK - as it is generally not as important as the other abilities.

Both Luocha's Talent and Ultimate hold equal importance, but players seeking to improve his healing abilities should give priority to upgrading his Talent. On the other hand, those who are already benefiting sufficiently from the healing aspect of his Skill and intend to utilize him as a Sub-DPS should concentrate on upgrading his Ultimate before his Talent.
