Fast travel is a crucial feature in Lords of the Fallen, providing players with the ability to easily navigate the game world. Unlike other soulslike games that have limited checkpoints for travel purposes, Lords of the Fallen introduces an additional mechanic that enhances exploration.
Within the game, there are two types of fast travel spots: Vestiges and Vestige Seedlings. While both serve the same purpose, there is a slight distinction between them. Vestiges can be used multiple times, whereas Vestige Seedlings necessitate specific conditions to be met.
How To Fast Travel In Lords Of The Fallen Using A Vestige
In Lords of the Fallen, players can fast travel by activating a Vestige, which serves as a permanent checkpoint. These Vestiges are former lampbearers, and the Umbral Lamp is used to activate the checkpoint. Resting at any Vestige will forcefully return players to Axiom, the land of the living.
Once a Vestige is activated, lampbearers can travel from their current location to another activated Vestige by choosing the Warp to Vestige option. It is important to note that failing to interact with a Vestige lamp upon discovery will prevent it from being available as a traveling point.
Players can utilize their earned Vigor to Upgrade their Character and enhance their skills, aside from the fast travel option. Furthermore, they can also engage in Multiplayer mode, which enables them to invite unknown lampbearers, invite friends, travel to assist a friend in another world, and engage in the standard invade option.
Perhaps the Rest option is the most crucial feature at the Vestige as it resets players’ Sanguinarix and restores their health. However, it's important to note that the world will also reset, resulting in the resurrection of all previously defeated enemies, except for slain bosses.
How To Fast Travel In Lords Of The Fallen Using A Vestige Seedling
As players journey through the expansive realm of Lords of the Fallen, they will eventually come across the majestic Redcopse Windmill. Here, a pivotal moment awaits them as they stumble upon the Vestige of Marco the Axe, a powerful artifact. Delving deeper into the surroundings, an enchanting Umbral flowerbed emerges, beckoning lampbearers to engage with its mystical allure.
The flower bed serves as a planting spot for a Vestige Seed, serving as a temporary checkpoint that mirrors the attributes of a regular Vestige. This allows the protagonists to take a break, call for assistance, or enhance their skills. However, the downside is that once they stumble upon another Umbral flower bed and plant a new Vestige Seed, the previous one will vanish and no longer be accessible.
The initial Vestige Seed can be acquired from The Iron Wayfarer during the second encounter inside a modest shack just prior to the Pieta boss battle. Subsequently, lampbearers have the option to procure it from a unique merchant named Molhu upon their arrival at Skyrest Bridge.
Lords of the Fallen is currently accessible on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
