Master Elemental Magic: Crafting and Finding Rods

Learn to craft powerful elemental rods in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom with our step-by-step guide Discover where to find the necessary materials and master the art of enchanting your weapons for a game-changing advantage

In the world of Hyrule, weapons are aplenty, and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom takes it up a notch with the introduction of the Fuse ability. This new feature allows players to create their own weapons, opening up a world of possibilities. Elemental rods are just one of the many weapons gamers can craft in Tears of the Kingdom, and this guide will show you how.

How To Make Elemental Rods

Acquiring elemental rods in Tears of the Kingdom is a breeze compared to Breath of the Wild. Instead of taking down Wizzrobes on the map, players only need a primary weapon and a gemstone to create one of four types of elemental rods. To craft these rods, players must fuse a specific gemstone with a weapon, and the possible combinations are:

Gemstone

Rod

Element

Opal

Water

Topaz

Electricity

Ruby

Fire

Sapphire

Ice

To fully utilize the elemental properties of gemstones, players can fuse them with a Magic Rod instead of any primary weapon. This results in a stronger and more effective fusion as the gemstone resonates with the rod. The weapon is able to expel three elemental balls simultaneously, instead of just one, making the attack more powerful. Don't forget to use

To throw elemental balls with this type of weapon, players can either use it normally by pressing Y or they can target any direction with the R button.

How To Find Magic Rods

There are various methods to obtain Magic Rods, but the most efficient one is to purchase them from a Bargainer Statue located in the Depths. Wizzrobes also carry elemental rods, although it may not always be a Magic Elemental Rod and could even be a regular weapon. This method saves players from wasting their own gemstones. The Bargainer Statue at Lookout Landing does not offer Magic Rods, but those at the Depths will exchange it for 100 Poes.
