Destiny 2 players are urging Bungie to revert a recent change that has negatively impacted the effectiveness of the popular Whisper of Rime Stasis fragment. With the introduction of Stasis subclasses in Destiny 2's Beyond Light expansion, players were able to utilize Darkness powers to freeze and shatter enemies on Europa. The aspect and fragment system, which allows players to customize their Guardian's subclass abilities and create unique builds, was also introduced with Stasis. While the system has been carried over into the reworked Light-based subclasses and is set to see further improvements in Lightfall's Strand subclass, fans of Destiny 2 have been voicing their dissatisfaction with Bungie's handling of the subclass following the change to the Whisper of Rime Stasis fragment.
Destiny 2 enthusiast Grottymink57776 and fellow players are urging Bungie to reconsider the significant nerf that was recently implemented on the Whisper of Rime Stasis fragment in PvE gameplay. The nerf in question results in a substantial 60% reduction in the healing effect of Whisper of Rime after acquiring a Stasis shard. While the fragment initially provided an overshield, this nerf drastically diminishes survivability compared to its original state. Consequently, many players now believe that both Whisper of Rime and the Stasis subclasses are in dire need of a rework similar to the Light 3.0 subclasses in Destiny 2.
Several Destiny 2 players, including Numberlittle and Blackfang08, are highlighting the absence of an overshield feature for Stasis subclasses following the nerf to Whisper of Rime. Others contend that the Stasis subclass currently ranks as the weakest option within the game's current sandbox environment, as its overall damage output and usefulness in end-game content lags behind the Light and Strand subclasses.
The recent nerf to Whisper of Rime has brought attention to the issues currently plaguing Stasis subclasses in Destiny 2. The community is eagerly awaiting substantial changes from Bungie, specifically to Stasis aspects, fragments, and abilities. While it remains uncertain when Bungie will revamp the Stasis subclasses, buffs and requested changes from fans could entice more players to try out the subclass in seasonal content and raids.
Although it seems unlikely that there will be immediate changes to the Stasis subclasses, Bungie's upcoming Destiny 2 showcase on August 22 is expected to unveil significant news. Coinciding with the start of Destiny 2 Season 22, the showcase may shed light on the alterations to the live sandbox throughout the season. Fans can also anticipate information about The Final Shape expansion and the return of Cayde-6 at the showcase.
Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
