Continuing the narrative from Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered and Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will feature both Peter Parker and Miles as playable protagonists in the main storyline. Together, they will join forces to confront formidable adversaries such as Kraven the Hunter and Lizard. Additionally, Peter will don his beloved Symbiote suit in Marvel's Spider-Man 2, enhancing his combat skills and unleashing a more aggressive side. During the Summer Game Fest 2023 showcase, the release date of October 20 was announced by Geoff Keighley and Insomniac Games' Bryan Inithar, accompanied by the official cover art.

Taneto90, a devoted Spider-Man fan, recently took it upon themselves to pay tribute to the classic Neversoft-developed Spider-Man game from the PlayStation 1 era. They skillfully edited the official cover of Marvel's Spider-Man 2, incorporating elements from the beloved Neversoft game. Notably, the cover now features the iconic font from the original Spider-Man game, along with a custom logo created by Taneto90. Furthermore, they went a step further by modifying the character models of Peter Parker and Miles Morales to resemble the polygonal models from the original PlayStation game. To truly capture the essence of the era, the newly edited cover art was even adjusted to the 4:3 aspect ratio commonly seen on cover art within PS1 video game cases.
