The recent PlayStation Showcase livestream gave fans a glimpse of what to expect from Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 after a long two-year wait. In the trailer, it was confirmed that Peter Parker would be wearing the Symbiote suit in his latest adventure, and viewers were also introduced to the game’s version of the Lizard.

Apart from the Lizard, the trailer also highlighted Kraven the Hunter, who finally made his appearance in the flesh after providing voiceover narration in the initial Spider-Man 2 announcement teaser. Sergei Kravenoff, like in the comics, is a big game hunter and mercenary who has grown tired of his usual prey. In Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, he seeks a greater challenge by targeting the various superbeings in New York City. Insomniac’s portrayal of Kraven is undeniably menacing, and fans of Red Dead Redemption 2 might recognize his deep and ominous voice.

Kraven the Hunter in Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is voiced by Jim Pirri, who previously played Angelo Bronte in Red Dead Redemption 2. A Reddit user pointed out the connection between the two characters, and other users in the comments section noted the striking similarities. It's ironic that Bronte meets his death by being eaten by an alligator, while Kraven is hunting a large reptile in the form of the Lizard in the latest Spider-Man 2 trailer.

Jim Pirri has an extensive acting career across various mediums, including the Marvel gaming universe. He voiced characters in Captain America: Super Soldier and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 video game tie-in, where he opposed Spidey as a Russian goon in a story involving Kraven the Hunter, almost a decade before he became the Hunter himself in Marvel's Spider-Man 2.
