Maren Morris recently made a comeback on social media with a cryptic message following the announcement of her breakup from Ryan Hurd. Sharing a quote on her Instagram Story, the 33-year-old singer posted, "Everything will be alright. It will simply exist and once it does, you will confront what is essential."
In a later development, Morris shared a picture of herself in a mirror, taking a selfie with two hands, and it was evident that she was not wearing her wedding ring.
On Tuesday, October 17, we were able to confirm that Morris had filed for divorce from Hurd just two weeks before. Court documents obtained by Us revealed that she cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the separation. The date of separation listed in the paperwork was October 2, which coincided with the day the divorce papers were filed.

On October 3, she performed a special concert in Chicago to celebrate the release of her new EP, The Bridge. Additionally, she attended the premiere of Taylor Swift's concert film, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, at The Grove in Los Angeles on October 11. Once again, she chose not to wear her wedding ring on the red carpet.
Morris and Hurd ended their marriage after being together for five years. They first crossed paths during a writing session in 2013 and eventually started dating two years later. In 2017, Hurd proposed to Morris. After getting married in 2018, Morris looked back on how their time apart during her tours affected their relationship.
"The most challenging aspect of our relationship was being separated while I was on tour. Right after our honeymoon, I embarked on a massive tour as the opening act for Niall Horan," Morris opened up to Esquire in 2019. "It involved more international travel than I had ever experienced before. I was away for longer periods of time than on any previous tour."
Morris admitted that the summer had been challenging, prompting her and Hurd to seek therapy together.
"We have become much more bonded because we had to face difficult choices and engage in challenging conversations about what lies ahead and ways to improve our situation," she expressed. "I have always had love for him, but now I find myself appreciating him in ways I never thought possible."

Morris and Hurd's son, Hayes, arrived amid the COVID-19 pandemic, a year after their marriage, ultimately strengthening their relationship.
Morris received public support from Hurd ahead of her divorce filing, as he openly backed her decision to distance herself from the country music scene. (Morris had recently suggested her departure from the industry after facing criticism in 2022 for her vocal support of the LGBTQ+ community.)
Expressing his admiration, Hurd took to Instagram on September 20, stating, "She should be hailed, not merely tolerated. The impact of these two songs goes beyond mere admiration, they fulfill a deep need. I was aware it would resonate with many."
He expressed, "Many individuals would simply remain silent and continue to receive their paycheck despite the overwhelming surge of hateful comments. I'm extremely tired of witnessing my wife being relentlessly attacked by the online community. I'm fed up with every public figure expressing their ignorant opinions about her statements. It's a recurring pattern, so why should anyone be surprised when she exposes racism or homophobia? I'm tired of seeing people being positively recognized for such behavior."
