During a recent concert in Brooklyn, Madonna expressed gratitude to her lucky stars and some special friends. She took a moment to reflect on her June hospitalization, revealing that she was placed in "an induced coma." "There are some very important people in this room tonight that were with me in the hospital," Madonna said, according to footage posted on X (formerly Twitter) from a concert this weekend on her "Celebration" world tour.
She continued, "There's one incredibly important woman who took me to the hospital. I don't even remember it. I passed out on my bathroom floor and woke up in the ICU."
"She truly saved my life," Madonna added.
Madonna, the singer of "Vogue," also shared that she spent 48 hours in a medically induced coma. She expressed her gratitude to her Kabbalah teacher for providing support during this challenging time. She remarked, "The only voice I heard was his. I heard him say, 'Squeeze my hand.' That's it."
Upon waking up, she exclaimed, "I saw my six amazing children all around me" and playfully remarked that she "almost had to kick the bucket" to have all her children together in one room.
Madonna is the mother of Lourdes Leon with Carlos Leon, Rocco Ritchie with Guy Ritchie, as well as David Banda, Chifundo "Mercy" James, and twins Stella and Estere, whom she adopted.
In June, Madonna's longtime friend and manager Guy OSeary revealed that she had been admitted to the ICU due to a severe bacterial infection. According to CNN, the pop icon was discharged from the hospital a few days later and began her recovery at home.
Following a delay while she focused on recuperating, she started her "Celebration" tour in London in October.
During the debut show, Madonna expressed, "I didn't believe I would survive, and neither did my doctors. If you want to know my secret and how I managed to pull through, it's simple - I had to be there for my children. I had to survive for them."
