Madonna recently revealed the seriousness of her health scare last summer, which led to her being put in a medically induced coma.

During her concert at The Kia Forum in Inglewood, California on March 4, the Grammy winner shared her experience, expressing how it felt to lose control temporarily. Despite facing various health challenges in the past, including multiple injuries and a titanium hip, Madonna remains determined and unstoppable.

Madonna faced a major health crisis last summer when she contracted a severe bacterial infection. This led to the iconic singer being put into a coma and spending several days in the intensive care unit.

During her latest show, Madonna, who is 65 years old, revealed, "This summer I had a surprise. It's called a near-death experience. Yes, and I'm not joking. It was quite frightening. I was unaware for four days because of the induced coma. When I finally woke up, the first word I uttered was 'No.' That's what my assistant told me, anyway."

She expressed, "I believe God was asking me, 'Do you want to join us? Do you want to come with me? Do you want to go in this direction?' And I replied, 'No. No. No!'"

At her concert, Madonna showed gratitude towards Dr. David Agus, a physician who was present in the audience, for his support during her healing process.

"He's had to endure so many amusing phone calls from me," she quipped. "When I was unwell this summer and couldn't even walk from my bed to the bathroom, I would call him every other day and ask why I felt so drained. I kept questioning when my energy would return, when I would feel like myself again, and when I could resume touring. It was a constant stream of 'when, when, when, when, when, when, when?' And all he would suggest was, 'Just step outside into the sunlight.'"

Madonna prefers not to get her Vitamin D from the sun. However, when her doctor, Agus, advised her that it would benefit her kidneys, she decided to follow his recommendation despite her initial reluctance.

Madonna shared that even though she hates the sun, she pushed herself to sit in her backyard. She found it challenging to walk from her house to the outdoor space. It was a struggle for her, not knowing when she would regain her energy and feel like herself again. Letting go of control was a valuable lesson for her.

As The Celebration Tour travels across the country, Madonna is thankful for her good health. She appreciates the chance to sing her most popular songs to large crowds of fans.

She is excited for her kids to see her back on stage after delaying her tour for three months.

"My children were my motivation to keep going. They worked so hard and I didn't want to disappoint them," Madonna shared. "I also didn't want to let down my fans, because I always strive to make them happy."
