Luke Bryan, 47, expressed his frustration on Sunday, August 6, as he was forced to cancel three consecutive concerts due to illness. In a tweet, Bryan apologized to his fans at the Watershed Music Festival, stating that he was still unable to sing or even speak properly. Despite his absence, he encouraged the other performers to provide an amazing show and asked the fans to show their support.
Bryan had to cancel his show in Salt Lake City on August 4 due to a head cold. Despite trying to warm up and sing, he was unable to improve his condition. Consequently, he made the decision to reschedule the performance at the USANA Amphitheatre to August 31, 2023.
On Saturday, August 5, Bryan announced via Twitter that he would not be able to perform his show in Boise, Idaho that night. He stated that, upon the advice of doctors, he needed another day to rest his voice and recover. Bryan expressed his disappointment in not being able to perform for his fans, emphasizing his love for live shows. More information regarding ticket holders will be provided. Luke concluded his message with a heartfelt "Love ya Luke."
Bryan's canceled dates have occurred less than two months since he acknowledged in an interview with Entertainment Tonight that he has been struggling to balance his career and family obligations this year. He has been married to his college sweetheart, Caroline Bryan, since 2006. Together, they have two sons named Thomas "Bo," aged 15, and Tatum "Tate," aged 12. Additionally, the couple welcomed Luke's nephews, Jordan, Kris, and Til, into their family after the passing of Luke's brother-in-law in 2014.
The singer, known for his hit "But I Got a Beer in My Hand," informed the outlet that he made a commitment to take his wife on a tropical getaway once the year's stress dissipates.
"I've been telling my wife that once we endure this challenging year, let's find a boat and escape to the Caribbean," he stated. He mentioned that he also plans to lessen his workload and take things at a slower pace.
