Content creator Dalauan Sparrow, also known as LowTierGod, has recently been banned from Twitch, adding to the growing number of high-profile bans on the platform in 2023. With a reputation for his aggressive persona in the fighting game community, LowTierGod has had a tumultuous few months, including a permanent ban on his YouTube channel in late 2022. Despite his return to Twitch, he was once again banned a few weeks later, although this suspension only lasted a week and ended on May 5.
LowTierGod has been hit with another ban from Twitch a month after his previous one. According to StreamerBans, this latest ban only lasted for seven hours. However, Twitch has not given any official explanation for the ban as they have a policy of not commenting on individual cases of account sanctions. LowTierGod's fans are left to hope that he shares the reasoning behind the ban, which he has not done at the time of writing. One of LowTierGod's viewers has speculated that the ban was due to a movie scene with nudity that was shown during his latest stream. This theory aligns with Twitch's Community Guidelines, which prohibit the broadcasting of any content containing depictions of real and incompletely censored nudity. The short duration of the ban could be attributed to the severity of the violation compared to other offenses such as hate speech, which historically warrant much longer Twitch bans.
Despite being removed from Twitch, LowTierGod's fandom on the platform has remained strong, with nearly 180,000 followers on his channel. However, his presence on the Kick platform has not yet reached the same level of success, with a following more than 10 times smaller. As Twitch is currently LowTierGod's primary source of income, it may incentivize him to maintain good behavior going forward. However, given his history of controversy, including a ban from Capcom's Street Fighter 5 due to a transphobic outburst, it remains to be seen whether his streaming career will continue without interruption. Additionally, many of his followers expect him to exhibit rage on-screen, which is allowed by Twitch only up to a certain point, making it challenging for him to consistently stay in line.
