Lori Loughlin and Candace Cameron Bure will always be like family, even after their time on Full House and Fuller House.
Loughlin, who is 59 years old, showed up on Tuesday, April 2, to show her support for Cameron Bure, who is 47, at a friends and family screening of her new movie Unsung Hero. The two former coworkers took pictures on the red carpet and shared a warm hug inside the theater.
Cameron Bure chose a fresh spring look, wearing a white-and-pink floral dress. In contrast, Loughlin went for a more casual vibe, pairing a grey turtleneck sweater with jeans and a leather blazer. She added a stylish touch with burgundy reading glasses and styled her hair in a layered bob.
Loughlin and Cameron Bure have been friends since 1987 when they played Rebecca Donaldson and D.J. Tanner on Full House. In the show, which ended in 1995, Loughlin's character Becky became an aunt to D.J. and her sisters after marrying Uncle Jesse Katsapolis (John Stamos). Both actresses reprised their roles for Netflix's Fuller House in 2016, but Loughlin left early due to her involvement in the college admissions scandal.
The former When Calls the Heart star, Lori Loughlin, and her husband Mossimo Giannulli faced accusations in May 2019 for allegedly paying over $500,000 in bribes to secure their daughters' admission to the University of Southern California. Both Loughlin and Giannulli, now 60, pleaded guilty to fraud charges a year later and received separate prison sentences. Loughlin completed her two-month sentence and was released in December 2020.
Following her time in jail, Loughlin has maintained a low public profile. She made her first post-scandal red carpet appearance in February 2023, reuniting with Cameron Bure at the 30th annual Movieguide Awards.
Loughlin has recently returned to acting, making a cameo in the WCTH universe for Hallmark's When Hope Calls spinoff in December 2021. Following in the footsteps of Cameron Bure, she transitioned to Great American Media in 2023. Her first GAC film, Fall Into Winter, premiered in January of the same year.
One of Loughlin's former Hallmark costars, Paul Greene, shared in an exclusive interview with We in December 2022 that he reached out to her to check in. He mentioned that she appeared happy and enthusiastic about being back in the acting world. Greene expressed his admiration for her, stating that he tries to keep in touch with her whenever possible.
During the time we were both working on When Calls the Heart, I made sure to keep in touch with her to see how she was doing.
