Summer House star Lindsay Hubbard revealed on a recent episode of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen that she no longer has her engagement ring from her ex-fiancé Carl Radke.
According to Hubbard, Radke requested the ring back, citing New York law and etiquette. In New York, engagement rings are considered a contingency gift, meaning they are dependent on the couple getting married. If the wedding doesn't happen, the ring legally belongs to the person who gave it.
Hubbard admitted that Radke, who is 39 years old, is officially the owner of the diamond ring after their breakup.
She explained to host Andy Cohen that she took off the ring right away and had her jeweler keep it safe. When Radke asked for it back via email, she returned it to him.
Hubbard and Radke began dating in late 2021 and got engaged almost a year later. Radke proposed to Hubbard in August 2022, which was shown during season 7 of Summer House. However, just a few months before their planned wedding in November 2023, Radke decided to call off the engagement.
After the breakup, Hubbard shared exclusively with We that she was taken by surprise. She recounted feeling a mix of emotions, from sadness to anger, as she had to come to terms with the end of their relationship. Despite the difficult situation, Hubbard mentioned that she has now reached a point where she is ready to move forward and is feeling positive about the future.
She added that every couple has normal arguments, but nothing so severe that it would lead to a breakup. It was in the last two weeks of summer when his attitude and tone suddenly shifted. She noticed a lot of hostility and aggression from him, which left her feeling confused.
Radke, on the other hand, claims that his decision to end the relationship was not sudden. He explained that their arguments during the filming of Summer House season 8, currently airing on Bravo, played a role in his choice.
Hubbard and Radke no longer communicate in person. According to Hubbard, they have not seen each other face-to-face since three weeks after the breakup. Radke, who has not publicly responded to his ex's recent statements, has moved out of their shared apartment in New York City but still helps with the rent.
During an appearance on WWHL, Hubbard mentioned, "We renewed our lease a month before he ended things with me. I mean, that should have been planned out, but it wasn't. It's not my fault. When everything happened, it was a month after we renewed the lease. I was focused on surviving, not on finding a new place to live."
Hubbard further revealed on Thursday that she has started dating again but not seriously thus far.

The end of Lindsay Hubbard and Carl Radke's engagement is a bittersweet reminder of the complexities of love and relationships. While it's understandable that Radke would request the return of the engagement ring, given New York law, it's also heartbreaking for Hubbard to have to
