Lil Tay is now launching a pop career after the death hoax that relaunched her into the spotlight — and she feels better than ever.

Tay expressed her regained freedom to Rolling Stone in an interview published on Monday, November 13. Reflecting on her aspirations, the 16-year-old, as documented by court records, shared that she had always envisioned herself attaining fame at a young age. She spoke of this desire becoming a reality.

Since releasing her debut single, "Sucker 4 Green," in September, speculation has arisen regarding whether Tay herself or someone from her team was behind the misleading Instagram post in August, falsely stating the tragic deaths of Tay and her brother, Jason Tian. Tay revealed to the outlet that she had already prepared her comeback prior to the death hoax gaining widespread attention.

"I had a collection of songs that I was eager to release after reclaiming my freedom," she stated, alleging that her father, Christopher Hope, orchestrated the deception as a final attempt to undermine her career. "Fortunately, I was successful in releasing them. Therefore, I was determined to get my career back on track as soon as possible. But then the unfortunate incident of the death occurred."

On the other hand, Hope refuted any involvement in the rumors surrounding his daughter's demise. "Someone seems to believe that making accusations against me is a viable strategy for gaining publicity," he informed Rolling Stone. "However, all these accusations are completely untrue."

Tay's mother, Angela Tian, and Hope engaged in a bitter court battle regarding Tay's career. The conflict arose in 2018 when Tay gained popularity for her explicit social media videos, targeting individuals with low income and engaging in illegal activities. Although Hope disapproved of his daughter's inappropriate online content, Tay and her mother alleged that Hope was abusive (Hope has consistently refuted these allegations).

Following the widespread coverage of the death hoax in August, a statement was posted on Tay's Instagram account, asserting that Angela emerged victorious in the custody battle against Hope. As a result, Angela now possesses decision-making authority over Tay's career.

Tay unequivocally denied any claims suggesting that her brother, Jason, was responsible for spreading the fabricated news of her demise. Dismissing any lingering doubts, she addressed the issue head-on, stating, "Conspiracy theories will always exist, but I have no power to prevent you from indulging in them."
