Unlock the Diablo 4 Greedy Emissary Event in WoW

Unlock rare loot in World of Warcraft with the Diablo 4 Greedy Emissary Event Learn the ins and outs of this exciting new event and increase your chances of scoring exclusive rewards

To celebrate the upcoming launch of Diablo 4, World of Warcraft has kicked off its first stage of the crossover event with A Greedy Emissary. Players have the chance to earn some exciting Diablo 4-themed loot, but it's important to understand how the event works.

During A Greedy Emissary, a golden portal will appear on the world map every 30 minutes. However, players need to be in the zone to see where it spawns. Within five minutes of appearing, a Diablo 4 Treasure Goblin will emerge from the portal. Any player of any level and faction can tag the Treasure Goblin to loot it, but they must act quickly as the monster typically dies within a minute. The Treasure Goblin portal spawn swaps locations between Stormwind and Orgrimmar at the top of each hour, and then to a Dragonflight zone at the half-hour mark. The spawn locations cycle each hour in the following order: Ohn’ahran Plains, Azure Span, Thaldraszus, Valdrakken, and the Waking Shores.

Defeating the Treasure Goblins in World of Warcraft can reward players with a variety of coveted items. These include Tyrael's Charger, a mount that was initially offered as a Diablo 3 collaboration and is now available through the in-game store. Players can also obtain the Nightmare Banner toy, the Treasure Nabbin' Bag back cosmetic, and the Baal'ial battle pet, which unlocks the Little Lord of Lies achievement. In addition, players have a chance to get their hands on the Scroll of Town Portal hearthstone, Twelve-String Guitar toy, and Livestock Lochaber polearm from the Diablo 20-year anniversary event. The event also features Enmity Hood and Cloak, a cosmetic ensemble inspired by the Dark Wanderer, as well as a one-handed mace, two-handed mace, and off-hand inspired by Wirt's Leg. The Horadric Haversack, a 36-slot bag, and charms that provide passive stat buffs when placed in a player's bag for the event's duration are also up for grabs.

The Tyrael’s Charger and the Horadric Haversack are highly sought-after items in the World of Warcraft event, with their drop rates being the rarest. Interestingly, these two items have an increased chance of dropping on the first Treasure Goblin that players defeat on their account each day, after which they become incredibly rare. On the other hand, other rewards have the same drop rate on subsequent Treasure Goblins.

Following the conclusion of A Greedy Emissary, World of Warcraft will commence the Welcome to Sanctuary event, which will run from June 15 to July 11. During this period, players will receive a 50% experience boost and an 8% reputation increase with all factions, except the new Loamm Niffen from Embers of Neltharion. This event gives players a good reason to return to Azeroth, especially a few weeks after Diablo 4 is released.
