The podcast hosted by Jason and Travis Kelce has gained immense popularity, to the extent that LeBron James is now eagerly requesting to be a part of the show.
On Wednesday, October 4, the 4-time NBA champion expressed his astonishment on X (formerly Twitter), stating, "@newheightshow It's crazy that I haven't received an invite to join your fantastic show! Is it because you guys are genuinely the Kings of NE Ohio and I claim to be? Please be honest! Seriously, you guys are absolutely awesome!"
James, aged 38, and the Kelce brothers, Travis (aged 34) and Jason (aged 35), all grew up in Ohio. While LeBron was born in Akron, the Kelce brothers are from Westlake, a suburb of Cleveland. Jason responded by mentioning that it was Travis' responsibility to invite James to join them. The tight end made it clear that he was extremely excited that the basketball legend wanted to be a guest on their podcast.
"Thank you, Bron. We would be thrilled to have you grace our show!" tweeted the Kansas City Chiefs football star on Wednesday. "It is only fitting to have Northeast Ohio's best join us and discuss some basketball! Let's make it happen!"
The "New Heights" podcast account extended an open invitation, which garnered numerous responses.
One individual tweeted, "@KingJames, it's not enough to have him on as a video podcast. It would be better to have him in person at a venue, possibly in the Cleveland area, with an audience."
Another fan expressed their congratulations, stating, "Congratulations, gentlemen. Being the number one podcast for however many weeks is a remarkable achievement. LeBron's interest in appearing on the show exemplifies the highest level of sports discourse. If you also manage to secure interviews with Beckham, Simone Biles, Serena Williams, and Dale Jr, your podcast will undoubtedly secure its place as the greatest in history."
Excitement filled the comments as another fan eagerly said, "LeBron x Kelce Brothers? Absolutely! Let's set a date so I can mark it on my calendar without delay."
One user playfully suggested that James might be leveraging the popularity of the NFL brothers to gain attention for the show, particularly with Travis' rumored romance with Taylor Swift. The podcast's X account promptly responded with a humorous remark, asking if they were going to make LeBron James famous in a similar way to how the media attention boosted Travis' profile through his relationship with Swift, who is 33 years old.
On September 24, the pop star visited Kansas City to witness the Chiefs' impressive 41-10 triumph over the Chicago Bears. The following week, Swift made an appearance at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Sunday, October 1, where she caught the team's 23-20 victory against the New York Jets. Her presence did not go unnoticed, as she became the focal point of attention during the televised broadcast.
During their "New Heights" podcast episode on Wednesday, the Kelce brothers discussed whether the NFL has crossed the line with its frenzy.
Jason asked his brother, Travis, for his "honest opinion" on whether the NFL is overdoing it, regardless of his "feelings for Taylor." Travis replied, stating that while he finds it enjoyable to see who is in attendance at the games and believes it enhances the overall experience and atmosphere, he also believes that the NFL is going a bit too far with it, particularly considering his own circumstances.
