Lana Del Rey shared that her distinct home has caused challenges in her romantic relationships. In a recent interview with Harper's Bazaar, the 38-year-old singer invited the magazine into her "exceedingly modest" Los Angeles home and revealed that its simplicity has presented difficulties in her love life.
“There were some disagreements among a few individuals over this house,” Del Rey revealed. “I believe that even the most relaxed person doesn’t truly want to relax here. Unfortunately, deep down you know... it just isn’t right.”
According to Bazaar, Del Rey’s house is “cozy, tidy, and simply decorated” but lacks “much in the way of adornment aside from a magazine clipping of Marilyn Monroe pinned to a window in the bathroom and a few family photos.”
Del Rey recalled that a recent unnamed boyfriend was unimpressed by the minimalist home, leading to the demise of their relationship. "That one shocked me," she remembered. "I won't name names or anything, but that really surprised me, that person. That was actually the end of a relationship."
Photographed by Kristy Sparow/Getty Images, Lana Del Rey didn't name any names, but her most recent romantic connection was reportedly music manager Evan Winiker. In March, Billboard confirmed their engagement, but in her interview with Bazaar, Del Rey suggested that they have since parted ways.
She told the outlet, "I'm not in love right now, definitely not. I have been in the past, but not at the moment."
While Del Rey and Winiker didn't make any public statements about their relationship, Winiker did share a carousel of Instagram photos in October 2022, which featured Del Rey in a group snap at a Halloween party.
Del Rey mentioned in her Bazaar profile that her former boyfriend, who objected to her house, appeared to be enamored with the concept of her rather than her true self. She expressed, "That's a hard truth to accept. In his case, there was some inner turmoil, like a fragile ego. Unlike him, I no longer have the luxury of that. It's been completely shattered."
Earlier, in July 2014, Del Rey shared with Rolling Stone about a lengthy relationship she had with a music industry executive she met over a decade ago while seeking her first recording contract.
"I was involved with him on and off for seven years, and we still have a close relationship," she revealed. "He had a significant impact on my perspective, especially in terms of not being able to attain what I desired."

She expressed that their relationship symbolized her constant dissatisfaction with not achieving what she truly desires in life. Del Rey clarified, "I was devoted to him and his work, but it felt like being near to what I cherished without truly having it, mirroring the pattern of my life over the years."
