Kim Zolciak-Biermann and her estranged husband Kroy Biermann have been mandated by the court to participate in mediation for their divorce and must complete the process by the end of next month, as per the order filed by Judge Shermela J. Williams on Monday, December 11. The pair, aged 45 and 38 respectively, are required to attend a mediation session before January 31, 2024.
“After reviewing the record and applicable authority, the Court has decided that due to the unresolved issues, it would be beneficial for the Parties’ interests and the orderly management of the Court’s docket to refer the above-styled case to mediation,” Williams’ order stated. “Both Parties are required to attend the mediation session.”
The order also stated that the estranged duo has the option to either arrange a session through the Fulton County Alternative Dispute Resolution program or hire a private mediator. Additionally, they must share the costs of mediation equally.
If Zolciak-Biermann and her estranged husband do not come to a resolution during mediation, their case will be left in the hands of the court. After 11 years of marriage, the couple initially filed for divorce in May, only to reconcile two months later and cancel the split. However, Biermann filed for divorce again shortly after, declaring their marriage as "irretrievably broken."
He also filed for full legal and physical custody of their children, and requested exclusive access to their home in Georgia, which he shares with Zolciak-Biermann. The couple has four children together: Kroy “KJ” Jr., 12, Kash, 11, and twins Kaia and Kane, 10. In addition, Biermann is the adoptive father of Zolciak-Biermann’s daughters from a previous relationship, Brielle, 26, and Ariana, 22.

Biermann listed the couple's house for sale in August, stating in court papers that he hoped selling the property would reduce their debt and generate "adequate income to establish their own separate residences, thus removing the children from the toxic environment." A month later, Biermann alleged that his estranged wife was attempting to prolong their divorce proceedings to remain in the home longer, disclosing that the house was slated for foreclosure in November. Zolciak-Biermann, on the other hand, informed TMZ that the choice to sell the house was a "mutual" decision.

Despite their ongoing divorce, the couple came together last month to commemorate their 12th wedding anniversary. Fans observed that Zolciak-Biermann had re-added her married name to her Instagram bio after removing it previously.
"A source revealed exclusively to Us at the time that for now they are on good terms," the source said. "They may not be officially back together, but they are making an effort to improve their marriage."
