Kevin Costner shared that going through his high-profile divorce from Christine Baumgartner was emotionally challenging. The divorce was finalized in February after almost twenty years of marriage. This difficult time coincided with Costner working on his latest movie, Horizon: An American Saga.
Costner discussed the challenges he faced in a recent interview with GQ on May 20. He emphasized the seriousness of juggling his divorce and movie commitments simultaneously, describing it as "very serious stuff." Costner acknowledged the importance of addressing these issues on a daily basis, both emotionally and historically.
The Yellowstone star mentioned that he and Baumgartner have children together, including sons Cayden, 17, and Hayes, 15, as well as daughter Grace, 13.

He acknowledged that he has been hurt, but he made a vow not to lose sight of who he is.
Costner shared that Horizon was a significant project for him, which he likened to his “white whale.” He disclosed that he had personally put in $38 million into the venture.
He expressed his deep commitment to Horizon, stating that he feels a strong sense of responsibility towards the investors, believers, and employees who have put their trust in him. Despite the challenges and emotional toll it may bring, Costner emphasized that he is determined to see the project through to success.
He went on to say that no matter how much water splashes on his face, he refuses to release the rope that represents this important matter. He emphasized the need to not just hold on, but to also pull on the rope.
The first chapter of Horizon: An American Saga will be released in theaters on June 28, followed by the second chapter on August 16.
