Kevin Costner Praises Son Hayes Performance in Final Season of Yellowstoneand Horizon

Kevin Costner was very proud and excited about his son Hayes' acting debut in Horizon: An American Saga. Costner, who is 69 years old, revealed to Entertainment Tonight on Tuesday, April 9 that he named his son after the character he plays in the movie, Hayes Ellison. He shared that watching his son grow up inspired him to make the film.

Costner spent over three decades working on the two-part Horizon: An American Saga, in which he acted, directed, and produced.

Costner also mentioned that he brought on a talented actor for a small role in the movie, and believes the actor made a significant impact on the overall film.

Costner admitted that Hayes, 15, did not have to audition for the role. He explained that he does not simply give away great parts, as he values young actors who work hard for such opportunities. However, in this particular case, Costner believed that Hayes was capable of handling the role. Despite not sharing any scenes on screen, Costner directed Hayes when he was younger and now they are connected through their work on the film.

Costner has children with his ex-wife Christine Baumgartner, including son Cayden and daughter Grace. He also has daughters Annie and Lily, as well as sons Joe and Liam from previous relationships.

After filing for divorce from Costner in May 2023, Baumgartner was reportedly feeling betrayed by her. Despite this, he decided to take the high road and focus on his children and his project, Horizon. Horizon: An American Saga Chapter 1 will be released in theaters on June 28, with Chapter 2 following on August 16.
