Keke Palmer Expresses Desire for a Large Family Inspired by Celebrities

Keke Palmer, who welcomed her son Leodis "Leo" Andrellton last year, is experiencing strong baby fever.

"I really want a big family. I want to have a soccer team of kids. Give me 10," Palmer, 30, shared exclusively with We while talking about her collaboration with Chips Ahoy! and the MMMProved Getaway Sweepstakes. "I would love to have a lot of children."

She joked about wanting to have a big family, saying she aspires to have as many kids as Diana Ross, who has five children, and even joked about having as many as Eddie Murphy, who is the father of 10.

Palmer welcomed her son Leo in February 2023 with her then-boyfriend Darius Jackson. However, the couple split in October 2023 and have been involved in a legal dispute. In November 2023, Palmer accused Jackson of multiple instances of physical violence during their relationship.

Palmer was granted a restraining order, which was extended in January. In that same month, Jackson's brother also filed a restraining order against Palmer, accusing her of harassing their family.

Despite all the drama, Palmer has stayed focused on being the best mom she can be and supporting her son through important milestones.

Palmer shared with Us this month that her son is very independent, which made her realize that she can be quite clingy and needy. She mentioned that it can be challenging at times when Leo prefers to do things on his own and doesn't want to be bothered too much. Although he enjoys affection from her, he also values his independence and likes to do things his way.

The actress from Nope admitted that she takes pride in raising a freethinker but also finds it heartbreaking to see him being okay without her at such a young age.

Palmer loves that her son is independent because she values his ability to take care of himself. She finds it amusing that he acts like he's all grown up, even though he's only 1 year old. Leo keeps himself busy by watching Ms. Rachel and playing with his toy trucks.

Despite Leo's independence, the former Nickelodeon star acknowledges that he still has a lot to learn and experience, such as trying his first cookie.

Palmer mentioned to Us that she wants to capture a video of him trying Chips Ahoy! for the first time. She shared that she always enjoys the brand's treats. Although she hasn't given him the cookies yet, she admitted that he isn't a big fan of sweets, which might change once he tries the cookies.

She added that she has attempted to introduce him to frosting, cake, and even a small amount of ice cream. While he seemed to enjoy the ice cream, he got a bit too excited. Palmer believes he might like ice cream, but she plans to offer him small pieces of cookies, possibly mixed in with the ice cream.

Palmer, for her part, has been a fan of Chips Ahoy! since well before she partnered with the brand for its new MMMproved cookie.

“I’m not into all the sweets, but I’ve always been into cookies,” Palmer explained. “[And] Chips Ahoy! has always been my fave.”
