Controversial Twitch streamer Kai Cenat shocked fans during a recent video call by revealing that he would be spending seven days in jail as part of an upcoming livestreamed celebrity collaboration starting on Friday, October 27. The news initially led fans to believe it was related to a giveaway-turned-riot incident in New York back in August, but Cenat quickly clarified that it was unrelated. Despite being one of the top Twitch Partners in terms of subscribers and known for collaborating with rappers and celebrities, the 21-year-old streamer has faced bans and unbans from Twitch due to various on-camera incidents. This includes an incident in January 2023 where he passed out after consuming too many marijuana edibles, violating Twitch's terms of service on certain substances. While Kai Cenat remains a polarizing figure, this recent video call adds to his growing collection of shocking moments.
During an Instagram Live conversation with Trinidadian-born rapper, singer, and songwriter Nicki Minaj, who had previously shown support for Cenat during a Twitch ban in April 2023, Cenat made a surprising announcement that he would be spending "seven days in jail" for reasons he felt compelled to undertake. Viewers were shocked and expressed their disbelief in the stream chat. However, Cenat clarified that the jail announcement was not related to the New York riot incident. Shortly after, Kai Cenat took to social media to hint at a celebrity livestream event called "7 Days In," where Cenat, along with YourRage and Offset, would voluntarily spend seven days in jail, with cameras documenting their experience throughout. The event is scheduled to commence on Friday, October 27, at 6:00 PM Eastern, on Kai Cenat's Twitch channel.
However, the remainder of Cenat's conversation with Minaj did not end well. After Minaj called him out for eating loudly, she abruptly ended the call. Nevertheless, Cenat remained optimistic, hoping for another opportunity to speak with the Queen of Rap in the future.
Cenat, who used to have the highest number of subscribers on Twitch, was surpassed in popularity after the New York riot incident. However, it is unclear what his future actions will be, considering the upcoming collaboration.
