Britney Spears is divulging details about her past with Justin Timberlake in her autobiography, The Woman in Me. However, Justin has moved forward from the drama.
According to an exclusive source, "Justin will always be supportive of Britney and her ventures, but he is making an effort to separate himself from her forthcoming book. He is not overly concerned about the content regarding their past relationship."
Britney Spears, age 41, will be releasing her memoir on Tuesday, October 24, and it has been confirmed that she extensively discusses her previous relationship with Justin Timberlake, age 42, in the revealing book. The two musicians were romantically involved in the late 1990s after first meeting on the set of The All New Mickey Mouse Club. In the memoir, Spears alleges that Timberlake cheated on her multiple times while they were together, according to an earlier statement from a separate source.
Despite Spears' recent claims, Timberlake, who is now happily married to Jessica Biel since 2012 and has two sons named Silas (8) and Phineas (2), has not publicly addressed the allegations. The initial source, however, notes that Timberlake has moved on and now leads a wholly different life.
"Justin and Britney's relationship was in the distant past, and he has since moved on to a completely different life," says the source. "His current priorities are his family, career, and moving forward, and he hopes to let go of any past events."
In another part of The Woman in Me, Spears discloses that she underwent an abortion when she conceived the couple's child. According to Spears, Timberlake tried to provide comfort by playing his guitar after the procedure.

Timberlake and Spears ended their relationship in 2002, which served as inspiration for his popular track "Cry Me a River." The accompanying music video, released in 2003, featured Timberlake alongside a Spears look-alike who portrayed a character that betrayed him. This led fans to speculate that Timberlake was accusing Spears of being unfaithful. Additionally, in her book The Woman in Me, Spears confirms making out with Wade Robson before their breakup.
In his memoir Hindsight & All the Things I Can't See in Front of Me, published in 2018, Timberlake reflects on the creation of "Cry Me a River." He explains that he wrote the song in just two hours, driven by intense emotions of being scorned and angry. Despite not planning to write it, Timberlake felt compelled to transform his feelings into a form that others could listen to and potentially relate to. The song resonated with people because it tapped into a universal experience that many have gone through.
Spears, on her end, initially experienced a state of shock upon hearing the breakup song and viewing the corresponding music video. In a 2003 interview with Rolling Stone, she expressed her uncertainty and bewilderment, stating, "I was at a loss for words, unsure of how to react." The unexpected nature of the situation caught her completely off guard. However, she acknowledges the importance of gaining wisdom through life experiences, remarking, "It appears to be a desperate move in my opinion, but it undeniably served as a successful strategy to boost record sales. He certainly is astute."
