Justin Timberlake has updated his social media profile after the release of Britney Spears' revealing memoir, The Woman in Me. The 42-year-old singer has disabled comments for his recent Instagram posts, and although he hasn't made any new posts since September 29, none of his recent photos have any comments.
Timberlake's decision to turn off comments on social media is currently unknown, but it coincides with the recent release of Spears' book, "The Woman in Me." In this book, Spears extensively discusses her relationship with Timberlake during the 2000s. Their relationship lasted from 1999 to 2002, ending due to allegations of infidelity.
In her memoir, Spears claims that Timberlake ended their three-year romance via text message, leaving her devastated. She also accuses him of cheating on her multiple times. Timberlake, on the other hand, previously suggested in 2003 that Spears was the one who was unfaithful, a claim which she admits to in her book. Specifically, she reveals that she kissed choreographer Wade Robson, who had worked professionally with Timberlake, during a night out at a Spanish club.
Spears' revelation about Timberlake was that he reportedly advised her to undergo an abortion upon discovering her pregnancy.
After undergoing the D&C, Spears claimed that Timberlake attempted to offer consolation through music, believing it would assist her with her emotional healing. According to her account, Timberlake played his guitar while she found solace in tears on the bathroom floor.
Despite Spears' revelations in her book, Timberlake has not made any public statements regarding the matter. However, an insider informed us earlier this month that he is actively attempting to separate himself from her allegations.
According to another source, Timberlake is disappointed that Spears chose to publicly discuss their past issues after all these years. In this week's cover story, a different insider shares that Justin feels regretful for causing hurt to Britney when they were younger. He believes that Britney has the full right to share her story and hopes that they can both move forward from this now.
Regarding the book's content, Spears has clarified that she did not intend to hurt or offend anyone.
"I want to clarify that my book was never intended to cause any offense," she explained on Instagram on October 20. "That version of me is in the past, and now I have a fresh start. I am committed to maintaining this positive approach for the rest of my life. Regardless, this will be the final mention of it, as mistakes happen. Surprisingly, this book has provided me with closure and the opportunity for a brighter future, although I understand that it may not sit well with everyone."
