Julia Fox is reclaiming her power. She recently shared on Watch What Happens Live on Monday, May 19, that she has chosen to practice celibacy as a way to voice her opposition to the overturning of abortion rights, specifically the Roe v. Wade law.

"Nothing good comes from having sex - including children," joked Fox, 34, before adding, "No, I'm just kidding."

"I believe that with Roe v. Wade being overturned and our rights being taken away, this is my way of reclaiming control," Fox further elaborated. "It's unfortunate that it has come to this, but I don't feel at ease until things improve."

Fox, who has a son named Valentino, age 3, with her ex-husband Peter Artemiev, mentioned that she has no plans to end her period of celibacy.

She explained, "It started as six months, then turned into a year, and now I'm amazed that it's almost been two-and-a-half years and I'm still going."

Asked by WWHL host Andy Cohen whether she misses sex, the Uncut Gems actress gave an emphatic “no.”

"At first, yes," she said. "But I believe it's similar to overcoming any habit - smoking, drugs, or anything else. Eventually, you just forget about it and then you can redirect all that energy you were putting into sex towards other activities."

Cohen, who is 55 years old, then delved into a more intimate topic, asking Fox, "Do you masturbate frequently?"

Fox shared that she doesn't have sex often, maybe only once or twice a month. She mentioned that sometimes she starts but then gets tired and loses interest because she feels exhausted all the time.

On May 11, Fox disclosed her celibacy in a comment on a TikTok video that was criticizing dating app Bumble's new ad campaign. One of Bumble's new billboards stated, "A vow of celibacy is not the answer."

A TikTok user shared a photo of a billboard criticizing a dating app for women for blaming women for men's violence.

In response to the post, Fox commented that they have been celibate for 2.5 years and are feeling great.

The actress briefly dated Kanye West in early 2022. During an interview on The Drew Barrymore Show in October, Fox mentioned that being with the rapper felt like taking care of a second baby.

She explained, "I could only handle it for a short time because I felt like he needed someone full-time, and I couldn't commit to that. I had my son [Valentino] to look after, and Kanye would call me a lot. So, I ended up buying a pair of AirPods so I could talk to him while taking care of my son. It became too much for me to handle, it was just too overwhelming and unsustainable."

“Ultimately I cannot put anybody else first,” Fox added. “My son has to be first. It just became too much. I didn’t sign up to have two babies. I couldn’t do it. It felt like two babies.”
