During this revelation, Megumi explains that a Shikigami cannot be controlled by a user of the Ten Shadows Technique unless they perform an exorcism on it. However, they do have the ability to summon the Shikigami in an attempt to exorcise it. Megumi astounds everyone by summoning Mahoraga, the most powerful Shikigami known in history, which has remained unexorcised by any previous user.

He initiated an exorcism ritual and compelled Haruta to participate, intending to sacrifice himself alongside him. Aware that Haruta would inevitably kill him, Megumi decides to incapacitate him using Mahoraga before losing consciousness. Sensing Mahoraga's presence, Sukuna swiftly comes to Megumi's aid. Sukuna intervenes to save Haruta, as his demise would bring an end to the ritual and also result in Megumi's death. The King of Curses confirms his desire to gain something from Megumi and proceeds to fight against Mahoraga in order to preserve Megumi's life. If Sukuna triumphs over Mahoraga, the exorcism ritual will be nullified and Megumi will be out of harm's way.

The forthcoming battle is the deadliest in the entire story, in which both monsters unleash devastating techniques upon each other. Sukuna ultimately emerges victorious by employing Domain Expansion, but the result is the annihilation of the entire Shibuya ward, reducing it to dust. Megumi is rescued, albeit at the expense of thousands of lives. In that moment, Yuji regains control of his body and is confronted with the horrifying aftermath of Shibuya's destruction. As a Gen Z fan, I am eagerly anticipating the release of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 17. The previous episode left us with a major cliffhanger, and I can't wait to find out what happens next.
