Andy Cohen is desperate for Joy Behar to reveal all about her time on The View, particularly during the Rosie O’Donnell era. Joy, 81, spilled the beans during a recent episode of the "Behind the Table" podcast, where she disclosed that Cohen has been practically begging her to write a book.
Teta, 47, inquired about Behar's journaling habits regarding the talk show. Behar admitted to only keeping a diary during O'Donnel's first year on the show. Similarly, Cohen, 55, and Teta agreed that publishing a book would generate a considerable reaction. Behar acknowledged the potential success of recounting O'Donnell's tumultuous period on the show but emphasized her lack of interest in writing a tell-all.
"Do you remember the book 'You'll Never Eat Lunch In This Town Again'?" Behar inquired. "The author discusses intriguing details such as a movie star with body odor and another with unpleasant breath. Considering these revelations, I believe the title of the book is quite fitting."
After pondering over it, Teta acknowledged that penning a book may not be the optimal choice. He found it surprising that Behar was opposed to the idea, considering her frankness in expressing her thoughts.

"For someone who is notorious for speaking her mind at all times, you surprisingly have a lot hidden, as the discussions in your dressing room reveal a different side of you," Teta disclosed. In response, Behar questioned, "Do you honestly believe I would have remained on the show for 27 years if I didn't have some reservations?"
Without delving into Cohen's request, it is worth mentioning that he is a well-known admirer of The View and recently established a nonfiction imprint with Henry Holt in 2020.
Behar has been a regular member of The View since 1997. In 2013, she faced a brief termination from the daytime series but was eventually rehired in 2015. O’Donnell, on the other hand, joined The View during the 2006-2007 season as a replacement for Meredith Vieira. During her first season, she garnered attention for her clashes with cohost Elisabeth Hasselbeck and a public feud with Donald Trump. O’Donnell departed from the talk show in April 2007 but made a temporary return in 2014 before permanently leaving in 2015.
Following her departure from The View, O’Donnell has spoken openly about her experiences on the program.
"I acknowledge that participating in a show where I have to engage in arguments and defend fundamental principles of humanity and kindness does not fully utilize my talent. It is an experience I would not choose to repeat," O'Donnell expressed during an episode of the "Now What? With Brooke Shields" podcast in April.
