Chad Stahelski, known for his work on the John Wick series, also revealed his passion for Star Wars and expressed his interest in directing a film for the series. During an appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Stahelski mentioned having ideas for a potential Star Wars project and expressed his readiness to take on the challenge, despite questioning if he would be the right fit for Disney's typically more family-oriented approach. "I'm a Star Wars guy," Stahelski stated. "The first Star Wars changed my life path. Maybe someday out there, Disney if you're listening, hit me in a couple of years. I have a couple of takes for Star Wars. I'd take a swing at that, see if Disney could survive me."
Stahelski expressed his interest in creating non-John Wick movies, acknowledging the challenge of working within the parameters set by the franchise owners. He speculated on the strict guidelines that may exist within the Star Wars series. While he estimated that John Wick 4 closely aligned with his vision, he anticipated less creative control in a different franchise such as Star Wars.
"Why adhere to someone else's constraints on what I consider to be a duel or mythology when I can forge my own path?" he mused.
With that said, it seems that Stahelski is eager to challenge himself by exploring a different franchise in the future. "I still have a competitive mindset lingering within me. I appreciate the recognition and honor, but I also want to push my limits. It's like Rocky. I need to find out," he explained.
Chad Stahelski directing a Star Wars movie could be thrilling for fans, but it's unlikely to happen anytime soon. Currently, Lucasfilm has several Star Wars movies in development, with a potential upcoming release being a film by Oscar-winner Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy starring Daisy Ridley as Rey.
In regards to the John Wick series, John Wick 5 is in the works, but it's still in the early stages.

As a Gen Z netizen, I'm thrilled to hear about Chad Stahelski's passion for Star Wars and his desire to direct a film for the franchise. His work on the John Wick series has demonstrated his exceptional talent in crafting action-packed, visually stunning films. I believe his unique perspective and fresh ideas could bring something new and exciting to the Star Wars universe.
However, I understand Stahelski's concerns about Disney's typically more family-oriented approach. The Star Wars franchise has a vast and diverse fan base, and it can be challenging to balance the expectations of different audiences. I hope that if Stahelski does get the opportunity to direct a Star Wars film, he will be given the creative freedom to stay true to his vision while also respecting the legacy of the franchise.
