Jessica Simpson prioritizes fashion, regardless of the frigid 30-degree weather in New York City. The 43-year-old singer and fashion designer confidently showcased her skin as she ventured out in the nearly-freezing Big Apple on Tuesday, November 28th.
Simpson was spotted in the East Village neighborhood wearing a stunning floor-length fur coat over a black turtleneck crop top that bared her midriff, paired with high-waisted leggings. She complemented her outfit with black and red cowboy boots and a vibrant crimson Chanel handbag. Adding sparkle with hoop earrings, she wore her blonde hair down the middle.
For her makeup, Simpson chose a bold look with dark eyeshadow, heavy eyeliner, dramatic lashes, and rosy cheeks, finishing the look with a glossy pout.
Simpson is preparing to receive recognition for her bold style at the 2023 Footwear News Achievement Awards on Wednesday, November 29, in New York City. Earlier this month, the publication revealed that Simpson will be presented with the Icon Award in recognition of her contributions to music and fashion, particularly in the shoe category with her own footwear collection.
Simpson remarked in her November 2023 FN cover story that an icon is someone who is unafraid to take risks, coinciding with the ceremony. "Frequently, their decisions may not seem logical at the time, but they contribute to a visionary grasp of the overall situation. An icon is someone who surpasses a specific time or location and shapes a moment."

Simpson proved her icon status in 2020 when she officially reclaimed her fashion empire after years of difficulty.
Jessica Simpson Collection was launched in 2005 and initially owned by Camuto Group. However, in 2015, it was sold to Sequential Brand Group Inc. for $117 million. The corporation, which has since filed for bankruptcy, was unable to grow the company, lacked the resources to create a website, and experienced stagnant sales. Simpson told Bloomberg in January 2022 that she questioned where the money from the deal was going and expressed frustration that it was not being invested in the growth of her brand. Additionally, the corporation attempted to shift the blame for the brand's lack of growth onto her.

But when Simpson and her mother, Tina, took over the website and achieved success, they made it their goal to repurchase the majority stake in the company. Fast forward to November 2021, Simpson's $65 million offer for the majority stake was accepted. "Patience, passion, persistence, prayer, throwing curve balls and Hail Marys, while remaining humble through grace, gave me back my power and my name," Simpson captioned an Instagram post sharing the cover story. "If a girl with a dream like me could do it, I know anyone can!"
