Katie Holmes makes a surprising fashion statement with a trench coat. The 44-year-old actress attends an event at Hotel Chelsea in New York City on October 23, wearing a khaki-colored trench coat. This unique coat is designed in a deconstructed style, turning it into a floor-length dress. It has a belted waist, tortoiseshell buttons, and pleats down the front, giving it a distinctive look.

Completing her ensemble, Holmes chose a delightful set of glossy black Mary Jane shoes, accompanied by a stylish black shoulder purse. Adding a touch of elegance, she adorned herself with multiple gold necklaces, each featuring a captivating blue pendant.

In terms of her beauty regime, Holmes opted for a subtle and understated approach, keeping her makeup minimal. She opted to wear her long, sleek hair loose, effortlessly showcasing her chic French-inspired bangs that she unveiled back in September.

It is impossible to overlook that significant day in 2019 when she graciously appeared in New York City donning a harmonizing cashmere bra and cardigan ensemble from Khaite. The resulting fascination from the public with this now iconic appearance took the internet by storm, thanks to its effortlessly chic and modest simplicity. Despite this, Holmes remains perplexed by the public's captivation with it. During an interview with WSJ. Magazine, published on April 10, Holmes admitted, "I have a genuine fondness for the brand Khaite. However, I am clueless as to why that particular outfit garnered so much attention. I am uncertain of the symbolic significance a cashmere bra holds in terms of the progress or regression of women."

"I may have unintentionally damaged it. Maybe the credit for the cashmere bra should solely be given to its designers. After all, it represents progress for women to have bras that are comfortable," she remarked.

Holmes donned her boldest fashion choice yet as she attended the celebration of Melissa DeRosa's new memoir What's Left Unsaid: My Life at the Center of Power, Politics & Crisis at the Hotel Chelsea. DeRosa had previously held the position of Secretary to former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo from 2017 until his resignation in 2021.
