Jessica Simpson is commemorating another trip around the sun with a fresh face.
The singer, who turned 43 on July 10th, shared a selfie on Instagram to commemorate the occasion. In the photo, she can be seen smiling happily at the camera, without any makeup on. In the caption, she playfully mentioned that she did curl her lashes. She accessorized with metallic hoop earrings and wore a red top, with her hair styled in a low bun.
Many of Simpson's followers commented on the post, praising her natural beauty. One fan wished her a happy birthday and complimented her appearance. Another user expressed admiration for her skincare routine, while a third person wrote that she has always been beautiful, with or without makeup.
Simpson recently shared a celebratory post, following her recent interview with Bustle where she candidly discussed her appearance and addressed the accusations of taking Ozempic. Trolls have been criticizing her for being "too skinny."
"I swear," Simpson expressed to Bustle, "It's not [Ozempic]. It's sheer determination. Do people actually expect me to start drinking again? That's when I was at my heaviest. Or do they want me to have another baby? My body simply can't handle it."
Despite the hurtful rumors, Simpson firmly stated to the publication that she will not allow negativity to hinder her progress. She further emphasized, "I am deeply in tune with myself at the moment, and I refuse to let anything deter me. However, it doesn't mean that the criticism doesn't sting."

In November 2022, Simpson, who has three children with her husband Eric Johnson - Maxwell (11), Birdie (4), and Ace (10), shared that she had been sober for five years.
Reflecting on her journey, she expressed on Instagram, "Over the past 5 years, I have discovered that alcohol cannot serve as a shield for escapism. I have learned that I have the strength to overcome any obstacle that comes my way. I am capable of achieving anything I set my mind to. I am fully present, motivated, and sincere. My actions demonstrate my care for others."
In her 2020 memoir, Open Book, Simpson revealed her struggle with alcoholism to her fans. She described how she would carry a “glitter cup” brimming with alcohol, and her turning point came after Halloween in 2017 when she realized the need for a change.
