When questioned about the rumors of her dating Common, Jennifer Hudson maintained a playful demeanor but did not hesitate to compliment him, referring to him as a beautiful man.
Hudson also discussed the potential for a future musical collaboration between the two artists, both of whom have been honored with Oscars and Grammys for their work. "It would be incredible to witness two Chicagoans coming together, although I cannot say for sure," Hudson commented. "It has the potential to be amazing, you are correct in saying that."
When asked about the rumors of them going on a vacation together, Hudson responded with a playful remark. "I wasn't aware of that particular aspect," she jokingly commented.
Speculation surrounding the pair initially emerged in July 2022 after they were seen dining together in Philadelphia. Hudson, however, refuted any romantic connection two months later. In September 2022, she stated to Entertainment Tonight, "People construct their own narratives about it. We were working together on a film, and he portrayed my husband. We needed to eat during breaks." The duo was engaged in the filming of the thriller Breathe, alongside Sam Worthington and Milla Jovovich, with a significant portion of the movie shot in Pennsylvania, where Hudson and Common were observed.
Last month, there were rumors that Common, also known as Lonnie Rashid Lynn, was holidaying with Hudson in London. In one of Hudson's Instagram videos from the trip, a man was heard giving her posing instructions. Hudson, who was previously engaged to David Otunga and has a 13-year-old son named David Jr. with him, ended their relationship in November 2017.
Common, on his part, has been previously connected with Erykah Badu, Taraji P. Henson, and Serena Williams. Their split from Tiffany Haddish in November 2021 marked their most recent breakup after a year of dating.
Haddish, 43, had earlier stated that her relationship with Common was her "healthiest" yet, until it came to an end. In July, she disclosed to The Washington Post that the breakup was not mutual, claiming that Common ended things with her through a phone call.
“It was more him saying, ‘I think this relationship has run its course,'” Haddish said. “And I was like, ‘OK. Like, you gonna be a 50-year-old single man. OK?’”
