Jennifer Hudson Appears to Confirm Relationship with Common: 'I'm Thrilled'

Jennifer Hudson is head over heels in her new relationship.
The 42-year-old singer, who was recently the subject of romance rumors with rapper Common, revealed that she is in a committed relationship during an interview on CBS This Morning on Monday, November 6.
"I am extremely happy, yes," Hudson told host Gayle King. When questioned about her relationship status and whether she was in a romantic partnership, the Dreamgirls star responded, "I believe it's a bit more refined than being simply 'boo'ed up'."
She confirmed, "It's not an entanglement, that's certain." Nevertheless, Hudson chose to keep the identity of the individual responsible for her current happiness a secret.
Despite their longtime friendship, Hudson and Common, aged 51, sparked dating rumors with their affectionate behavior during a night out in New York City on Saturday, November 4. They were observed holding hands after attending a jazz performance.
In July 2022, rumors started circulating about the duo when they were spotted sharing a meal in Philadelphia. They were working on the upcoming thriller Breathe alongside Sam Worthington and Milla Jovovich, with a significant portion of the film being shot on location in Pennsylvania.
However, two months later, Hudson dismissed the rumors of her dating Common, stating in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, "People come up with their own stories about it. We were just working together on a film, he played my husband. We had to grab meals together during breaks."
In August, there were rumors that Common (born Lonnie Rashid Lynn) had joined Hudson on a trip to London after a man's voice was heard in one of her Instagram videos.
When asked about the speculated relationship by TMZ on August 1, Hudson avoided addressing the rumors directly. She simply stated, "Rumors say a lot of things," and complimented Common by calling him a "beautiful man." As for their alleged vacation in London, Hudson claimed to be unaware of it.
Hudson expressed optimism regarding the possibility of a future music collaboration with Common. "It would be great to see two Chicagoans working together, but I'm not sure about that," she told TMZ. "It could be amazing, you're correct in saying that."
In the past, the former American Idol participant was engaged to David Otunga, and they have a 13-year-old son named David Jr. However, the former couple ended their relationship in November 2017.
Common has been previously associated with Erykah Badu, Taraji P. Henson, and Serena Williams. In November 2021, he ended his one-year relationship with Tiffany Haddish.
Haddish, who is 43 years old, had described her relationship with Common as her "healthiest" in an interview with The Washington Post earlier this year. However, it came to an end when he reportedly broke up with her over the phone.
