Jalen Hurts showed appreciation for his all-female management team at the Philadelphia Eagles’ Women’s Football Festival on Sunday, May 19.
In a video shared on Instagram by The Sports-ish, the 25-year-old quarterback expressed his admiration for the women in leadership roles. Hurts highlighted the challenges that women often face, emphasizing their resilience and the lack of respect they sometimes receive. He advocated for greater recognition of women's contributions, not just in football, but in all aspects of life. According to Hurts, women are the foundation of everything.
Hurts, the quarterback for the Eagles, has always been a strong supporter of women in sports. He has previously praised his agent, Nicole Lynn, and his all-women management team. In an interview with Sports Illustrated in August 2022, Hurts mentioned, “I have a lot of respect for anyone who works hard to achieve their goals. I see women doing that every day, but they often don't receive the recognition they deserve.”
Hurts further elaborated, “I have witnessed many women in my life who are dedicated and hardworking. Whether they are athletes, coaches, or in the sports business world, I see their efforts regularly. They deserve to be acknowledged too. If speaking up about this issue helps bring more awareness, then count me in.”
Butker's commencement address at Benedictine College on May 11 took a different tone from Hurts' recent comments. He criticized women in the workforce, LGBTQIA+ pride, abortion access, and the use of IVF and surrogacy for family planning.

Butker also took a moment to acknowledge the women in attendance, praising them for their incredible achievements. He mentioned that they have been subjected to false and harmful rumors about their role in society.
He mentioned that some of you may go on to have successful careers in the world, but he believes that the majority are most excited about marriage and having children.
He then talked about his wife, Isabelle, who he described as the one who truly found purpose in life as a wife and mother. He credited her for shaping him into the man he is today, emphasizing the importance of her commitment to her roles.
Other celebrities and football players also shared their thoughts on Butker's controversial remarks, with some defending him while others denounced him. Stars like Patricia Heaton, Maria Shriver, Whoopi Goldberg, and Hoda Kotb joined the conversation.
In response to the controversy, the NFL's chief diversity officer, Jonathan Beane, released a statement on May 15, stating that the organization did not support Butker's comments.
"Harrison Butker recently spoke in his own personal capacity," Beane stated in a message to Outsports. "It's important to note that his opinions do not reflect those of the NFL as a whole. The NFL remains dedicated to promoting inclusion, as we believe it strengthens our league."
Editor's P/S:
Jalen Hurts's unwavering support for women in sports and his recognition of their contributions is a refreshing and inspiring message. His advocacy for greater representation and respect for women in all aspects of life is a testament to his character and understanding of the challenges they face. By highlighting the resilience and dedication of women, Hurts sets an example for others to follow and creates a more inclusive and equitable environment for all.
In contrast, Harrison Butker's commencement address sparked controversy with its outdated and harmful views on women and LGBTQIA+ individuals. His comments perpetuate stereotypes and undermine the progress made towards equality. The NFL's swift condemnation of Butker's remarks sends a clear message that such views have no place in the organization or society as a whole. The contrast between Hurts's and Butker's perspectives highlights the importance of fostering a culture of respect and inclusion, where everyone has the opportunity to succeed and contribute to their fullest potential.
