Is there a release date for Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3?
As of December 2023, no release date or window has been announced for the upcoming season. Given the time between the first and second seasons, fans can anticipate a release in three to four years.
The Jujutsu Kaisen manga started in 2018 and is ongoing. While Gege Akutami suggested the manga may conclude in 2024, nothing has been confirmed. The anime series premiered in 2020, with the second season airing in 2023. Additionally, a prequel movie was released in theaters in 2021.
Which manga arcs will Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 cover?
While officially titled the Culling Game arc, Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 covers two previous arcs in the manga: Itadori’s Extermination and the Perfect Preparation. In the wake of Gojo's sealing and higher casualties than expected, Japan is in a state of turmoil.
Season 2 concludes with the higher-ups issuing multiple directives in accordance with Jujutsu regulations in the absence of Gojo. They officially confirm that Geto has survived and is once again sentenced to death. Gojo is declared a traitor and exiled from the Jujutsu world, with the removal of his seal being deemed a grave transgression.
Masamichi Yaga is held responsible for provoking Geto and Gojo to instigate the Shibuya Incident and is given the death penalty. Yuji, whose death penalty was previously overturned thanks to Gojo, is once again condemned to death, with Yuta appointed as his executioner.
