The writers of Stranger Things claim to have found the ideal actor to portray Miles Morales in a live-action adaptation. Miles is set to embark on another thrilling journey in the sequel to Academy Award-winning Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which will feature him traversing numerous dimensions within the multiverse. With rumors circulating that Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse may include a live-action dimension, a producer has hinted at the possibility of a live-action Miles Morales film being in the works. The writers of Stranger Things have even gone so far as to suggest Caleb McLaughlin, one of the show's main actors, as the perfect candidate to portray Miles Morales.
Would Caleb McLaughlin Work As The Live-Action Miles Morales?
McLaughlin, who is only 21 years old, could portray a more mature version of Miles compared to the one depicted in the Spider-Verse films. The actor has previously expressed his interest in taking on the lead role in a superhero movie.
With the actor expressing interest in taking on a superhero role and fan art showcasing McLaughlin as an ideal choice to play Miles, fans are eagerly anticipating the possibility of it becoming a reality. Although Lucas Sinclair had a smaller role in earlier seasons of Stranger Things, McLaughlin's performance in season 4, which many consider to be the show's best, proved that he has the talent to take on more substantial roles in the future.
In the latest season of Stranger Things, McLaughlin showcased his impressive acting range, taking on a crucial role in Max's storyline with Vecna while also delivering standout solo performances and proving himself to be a reliable friend in times of need. With his physicality and comedic talent, he has the potential to play a superhero like Miles Morales, whose character is known for both his wit and his action-packed heroics. However, McLaughlin's age may be a hindrance to his chances of landing the role of Miles, as the character is usually portrayed as a high school student. This issue was also raised during Stranger Things season 4, where the older appearances of the child actors was criticized. Nonetheless, if the Miles Morales movie is set within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, McLaughlin could still have a chance to be a part of the Spider-Man franchise as one of Peter's college buddies in Spider-Man 4, paving the way for him to potentially take on the role of Miles in the future.
