Inventive Tears of the Kingdom Player Builds Mechanical Dragon in Zelda Game

An inventive player in Tears of the Kingdom has created a wacky mechanical beast resembling a dragon in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. This unique creation has garnered attention for its entertaining and amusing demonstration of the game's building mechanics.

The Wacky Mechanical Dragon

An inventive player in Tears of the Kingdom has constructed a wacky mechanical beast that closely resembles a dragon in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The entertaining video showcasing this creation has recently gained attention on social media, highlighting the incredible freedom that the game's building mechanics offer to players.

In an effort to recreate the majestic dragons found in the game, Reddit user CynicMusic has assembled a peculiar contraption using the Tears of the Kingdom Ultrahand ability. The end result of this design effort may not resemble the game's dragons while stationary, but it becomes apparent once the machine takes to the skies. The contraption mimics a dragon's locomotion animation in an exaggerated manner, thanks to a triple pendulum consisting of wood beams connected via cartwheels.

The mechanical dragon's head equivalent comprises a Zonai Wing with three Zonai Fans, functioning as the machine's main propulsion system. Another fan mounted at the top of the triple pendulum keeps the vehicle's 'neck' upright, indirectly causing its dragon body equivalent to move in a more erratic manner. The resulting movement is 'totally chaotic,' as CynicMusic described, but highly amusing to witness.

CynicMusic also explained that the stabilizer mounted at the end of the vehicle, next to its Zonai Steering Stick, offered a greater stalling effect than expected, prompting them to practice controlling the contraption. However, they eventually concluded that 'you can't really pilot a chaos vehicle' of this sort, as demonstrated in their shared video.

Recreating the Majestic Dragons

Much like Breath of the Wild, the sequel Tears of the Kingdom features several dragons that can be found circling various portions of Hyrule. There are a total of four dragons in the game, each dropping unique crafting materials and donning distinct colors. While their flying animation shows them gliding through the air and bending their serpentiform bodies, inventive players have attempted to recreate these majestic creatures using the game's building mechanics.

Another Tears of the Kingdom player recently built a flying dragon machine that's much easier to pilot than CynicMusic's contraption, although its increased maneuverability comes at the cost of a less majestic—and hilarious—flying animation. This isn't the first attempt at creating a mechanical dragon in the Zelda fandom, highlighting the creativity and freedom the game offers to its players.

The Freedom of Building Mechanics

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom offers players an incredible level of freedom through its building mechanics. Players have the ability to construct unique and inventive creations, as demonstrated by the wacky mechanical dragon built by CynicMusic. This creative endeavor showcases the imaginative possibilities within the game and the entertaining results that can emerge from exploring its building mechanics.

The video demonstration of the mechanical dragon serves as yet another example of the creative freedom granted to players, allowing them to push the boundaries of what can be achieved within the game. The wacky contraption and its chaotic yet amusing movement highlight the playful and inventive spirit of Tears of the Kingdom players, adding a new dimension to the game's already expansive world.
