Kevin Costner has expressed his desire for his estranged wife, Christine Baumgartner, to vacate their California home within the next month. Court documents filed on June 30 by Costner's legal team indicate that Baumgartner, aged 49, consistently presents groundless arguments as their client seeks to gain sole possession of the property.
In the documents obtained by People, it was stated that the 68-year-old actor has requested Christine to promptly vacate his separate property residence, with a deadline of July 13, 2023. Costner and Baumgartner have been engaged in a legal dispute concerning their home and their children, Cayden, Logan, and Grace, since she filed for divorce in May on grounds of irreconcilable differences. Both parties are seeking joint custody of their three children.
In his filing, Costner emphasized that they had signed a prenuptial agreement outlining the requirement for Baumgartner to leave their home in the event of a breakup. However, Baumgartner argued that she lacked the financial means to find alternate housing for herself and their children.
According to Baumgartner's filing in June, she acknowledged the eventual need to move out of the family home with the children. However, she expressed that it was not presently feasible due to her inadequate funding to secure housing that would sustain a similar standard of living for the children in their respective homes.

According to a recent source, the situation between Kevin and Christine could potentially worsen. The insider stated last month that Kevin is uncompromising about the matter, as Christine initiated the split and should adhere to their prenuptial agreement, which mandates that she vacate the premises within 30 days of filing for divorce. This has the potential to become a hostile legal battle, as Kevin is known for his strong beliefs and unwavering stubbornness.
On the other hand, a second source revealed that Christine believes Kevin should be the one to leave the property. She is deeply resentful towards him for prioritizing work over their family, which she believes caused the demise of their marriage.
Costner and Baumgartner have been embroiled in a legal battle not only concerning their property but also their financial matters, including child support payments. According to court documents from June, Baumgartner requested a monthly sum of $248,000 to contribute towards raising their children. However, in his response, the director is seeking to reduce this amount, citing his anticipated lower earnings in 2023 following his departure from Yellowstone. Additionally, he criticized his spouse for her extravagant spending habits.
