The Simulated Universe game mode provides a unique roguelike challenge, while events have introduced management-style mini-games. Now, HoYoverse seems to be taking inspiration from its flagship title, Genshin Impact, for its next game mode.

Genshin Impact initially introduced the Genius Invokation TCG game mode with the Version 3.3 update, which proved to be highly successful for the HoYoverse RPG. This distinct trading card game incorporates many familiar elements from Genshin Impact's combat, such as Elemental Reactions and Charged Attacks, into a turn-based TCG format. HoYoverse has consistently updated the game mode, introducing new characters, cards, and different ways to play. Recent leaks indicate that HoYoverse plans to capitalize on this success by developing a Honkai: Star Rail TCG.

A new leak by renowned HoYoverse leaker HomDGCat is hinting at a TCG game mode, named "Aetherium Wars," that is in the works for Honkai: Star Rail. This TCG will delve into the sci-fi realm and introduce players to extraordinary life forms called "Aether Spirits," which can be collected and battled. Similar to Genius Invokation TCG's Character Cards, players will employ Aether Spirits to engage in online matches with each other. This leak suggests that "Aetherium Wars" will become a permanent addition to Star Rail after the event.

In the upcoming Version 1.4 of Honkai: Star Rail, players can look forward to a leaked reveal about a free character. Previous leaks hinted at the availability of a four-star character, and now it seems players will have the choice between Serval, Pela, Hook, and Luka. To obtain this free character, players will participate in a TCG-focused event and redeem a special item. The release of Version 1.4 is expected on October 11.
