Hilary Duff and her husband Matthew Koma are expecting their third child. Duff, 36, shared the news with a family holiday card on Tuesday, December 12, showing her baby bump in a group photo with Koma, their daughters Banks, 5, and Mae, 2, and Duff's 11-year-old son, Luca, from her previous marriage to Mike Comrie.
The card's back featured individual photos of the three kids and the message, "Get ready, we're about to add another member to this wild crew!" Duff had earlier shared with We magazine that parenting with Koma had strengthened their bond even further.
In May 2019, she excitedly expressed, "We are happier and more in love than ever. We are excited for our future together. He completely surprised me, and I immediately said yes! He is my favorite person in the entire world, outside of my kids."
After becoming a mother to son Luca in 2012, the How I Met Your Father actress, Duff, went through a divorce with Comrie in 2016 after four years of marriage. She found love with Koma and they welcomed children in 2018 and 2021, and tied the knot in 2019.
Over the years, Duff has been open about the challenges and rewards of motherhood. She has shared that becoming a mother at the age of 24 came with its difficulties, recalling the initial feeling of isolation without friends who also had children. In an interview on the "Motherly" podcast in June 2019, she expressed that while it was a natural step for her due to her long career, she felt both prepared and scared at the same time. Her fear intensified once she became pregnant, realizing that motherhood was truly happening.
Duff has also opened up about coparenting her eldest with Comrie.

In a May 2022 interview with Grazia, she expressed, "We often talk about [Mike]. I enjoy sharing with him the story of how I met his father, the happy memories we created, and the immense joy of finding out I was pregnant. I also love reminiscing about how his father and I navigated through the pregnancy. It's a very heartwarming experience."
Duff also mentioned that she is very hands-on in her children's lives, enjoying playing with them and listening to them closely. Along with the fun, she is also the one who sets boundaries and enforces discipline in the household. She made it clear that there are consequences when her children cross certain limits.
