Heather Dubrow opens up about her decision to leave RHOC after season 17, admitting she felt completely done and unable to continue with the show Discover the real reasons behind her departure from the Real Housewives of Orange County

Season 17 of The Real Housewives of Orange County nearly made Heather Dubrow consider leaving the franchise once again. During BravoCon on November 4, the 54-year-old exclusively shared her thoughts, stating, "At that moment, I thought, 'I can't continue with this. I'm finished.' The amount of filming was overwhelming, and even more footage was never aired. It definitely had a significant impact on me."

While catching up with Us at day 2 of the fan convention, both Heather and her husband, Terry Dubrow, revealed how hard season 17 was for their family.

Terry, 65, revealed that the behind-the-scenes experience was incredibly challenging for Heather Dubrow. He emphasized that reality shows often fail to showcase the emotional toll it takes on individuals. According to Terry, Heather experienced a great deal of crying and required significant support throughout the tough season.

Heather expressed that the show's "remarkable platform" is one of the factors that has motivated her to stay on year after year.

"It has brought immense benefits to us and our family, and we have discussed this extensively. The main reason I returned was to utilize our platform for positive purposes and initiate discussions within other families," she conveyed to Us. "I believe we have managed to make a difference and at least initiate conversations, and that brings me great satisfaction. Despite some personal hardships, the larger impact holds significant value for me."

During season 17, Shannon Beador revealed that Heather faced numerous challenges. According to Shannon, Heather had occasional support but largely had to tackle these obstacles alone. One major hurdle for Heather was her strained relationship with Tamra Judge, who was accused by Gina Kirschenheiter on the show of making negative comments about Heather and undermining her professional success.

Heather revealed to Us in September that Tamra, aged 56, is undeniably a two-faced individual after revisiting the season. "She was expressing one sentiment to me directly, while saying something completely different about me behind my back," clarified Heather back then.
